I'm Stephen from Britain, Uk or whatever you call it in America.

I don't have a DJ name but monkey spunk is the first thing that popped into my head when I tried to believe of one just now.

I'm DJing with every kind of music I can find. I believe I have ADD because I can never play a track for more than 20 seconds without doing something to it. I like mashups and rather than finding harmony I prefer to put things together that really do not and will never go. Donna Summer and AFX springs to mind.

I forgot the rest of the questions I was supposed to answer

Been meaning to get around to this

1. Dave/DSharps/Shrapnel
(or d#s, lulz...)

2. Philly

3. EDM/House

Started with controllerism, I was pulled in by Moldover and Ean, with all their cool gear. Never had any talent with traditional instruments, but I've been into synths for a while, and interest in DJing grew out of that. I've got a Hercules DJ Control Steel, and a Korg R3 both with custom mappings. Still in the bedroom for the moment, but there's some opportunities coming up soon.

1. Jack Stacks aka Stacks the Genius
2. Chicago, IL
3. Mainly tech house / tribal some techno / minimal / progressive

Started djing 8 years ago on technics 1200's. Needed money so I sold my gear and saved my vinyl knowing I would be back. Took a couple years off and started messing around on cdj's. 4 years ago I bought my current set up (2 cdjs 1000mk3's and a djm-800) with the intent to utilize a DVS down the road. Almost bought traktor pro scratch this summer but held off to see what the new S4 was all about.

I've been lurking around these boards for awhile now, thought I should make it official.

I just got into digiDJing and got a Numark Total Control, running Traktro Pro 1.2.4, Dj StormEagle's NTC Mapping, and a DJiO audio interface. I am going to be buying some speakers and hopefully a midifighter soon. Currently I am in college, so the bulk of my gigs are house parties and a few frat parties. If i get good enough and i can get a following hopefully I'll be able to play in one of the bars or something in town!

Some background. Use to DJ from 1986 to 1997 on 1200's, mostly rap. Got married, needed money and sold off gear . Always wanted to get back into DJ'ing. Found traktor 2 and was impressed on the digital technology of DJ'ing. Figure I could doodle with it and get back into as a hobby. Got a vci-100 and found this site to be the most knowledgeable on the subject. Been on this site and buying gear now for a little over a year. Decided to start participating on the community s.

Current gear - macbook pro 15", traktor pro, vci-100. Probably gonna sell my vci for the s4.

Dj frogstar

Djing for about 15 years now... Started off with hardcore/breakbeat/gabber then moved into jungle/dnb.. am now focused on breakcore and dubstep.

My style has always been 4 channel mixing with fx and samplers. Rarely ever play the same song twice and never bother with routines. That pretty much sums it up.

Great community here, and should be fun to dig through.

Hi,
Based in Nottingham UK, been Djing for 20 years and on ableton for about 3, just bought an APC40 last week.

Currently got a mix of mine this week on the label Ninjatunes Solidsteel, I like to blend up anything I can. I just downloaded Bomes midi translator but its giving me a big headache just looking as all new tech things do.

I play a 2 hour radio show at http://www.purple-radio.co.uk/ on Tuesdays 8-10pm UK time.

Trying to get more work as a DJ this year, had a lot of trouble getting things started though due to family deaths and my music partnership and studio breaking up but in the last month Ive played at the Big Chill, I am playing at a festival called Festinho and have some other stuff in the pipeline.

I found this place through a google search about my mix on Solid Steel

So HELLO!!!

Used to lurk these community s anonymously a while ago. Now im back as my interest in controllerism has hit me hard (will be ordering 2 midifighters this week... so keen to try this deckalized setup) and this was the first place i thought of to help me get some controllers into my setup.

Posted as DJ Deks/Biting Bulleit before (not a sp error, Bulleit is whiskey)

Masterminded the sensation that was "DJ Cuddles"

Used this site as a resource for a long time, and it's helped tremendously in getting my act together and building a decent setup. I rock an NS7 with a separate mixer and FX unit; was the social chair of a fraternity, started DJing parties myself to save monies, got booted by ungrateful turds from said fraternity, continued rocking parties/melting faces with sweet soliloquies of sound anyways.

By the nature of most shows I've done (other than some hip-hop showcases and what folks down here call "raves"), I play a pretty eclectic mix to keep everybody happy. Started incorporating more mixing and super-hetty dubstep reworks into my sets recently though, so I'll probably be needing more hands-on advice soon. Becoming something of omni-tempo maximalist these days.

Much love to all, and especially Ean and the staff, without whom I'd have nowhere to make verbose posts. It's been awesome watching the site grow, y'all.

Mainly focused on producing, and figuring out new and interesting ways to perform my original music using Ableton + controllers. Mostly been writing dubstep/breaks/glitch-hop for the past year, but before that I wrote and spun all sorts of stuff, dnb, electro, psytrance, psy-chill, hip-hop.

been reading DJTT forever, finally decided to join the community .

Really interested in House (Progressive, Electro, Chill), but really I'd play anything but country... No gigs or sets under my belt, just a total newbie to DJing, and I hope to take away enough info to really put together some good mixes in the near future.

HA! That's funny. I've heard that before as well, just not sure where. Thanks for the welcome.
(Side note about the name, I work at a high school. Kids know I'm into Star Wars, so when I dj'd a dance once, they started calling me DJ Chewbacca. I laughed and just ran with it. )
