Hey Massel

definitely...i'm glad i found this site i'm on the verge of switching gears w/ my dj'ing repertoire so this seems to be the place to pick brains in regards to all of the midi techniques being used now. currently, i just use serato/vinyl/cd-j's only; i'm lacking in the digital mpc emulation style it seems all these controllers are providing dj's nowadays.

tell you one thing, i was dead set on getting a monome this fall so i'm defintely going to try and get my hands on one or two of those midi-fighter controllers before i go balls-deep into the monome side of things

ez,

This site has been invaluable in my getting up and running with DJ gear and setups, so I decided to register and participate.

My name is Robert Collins, and I go by the DJ nick Poizen Jam currently. I live in St. John's Newfoundland, currently completing a masters degree in Psychology. My favourite style of music lately ranges from the Chemical Brothers, to Pendulum, to Deadmau5, to MSTRKRFT. I guess I just like house and electro.

Hey all.

I just stumbled upon this site via YouTube and some of the Traktor tutorials that are floating around. I'm Hawthorne, nice to meet you.

A few details if you're interested:

-- 32/M/Boston
-- Professional Writer
-- Old School vinyl junkie
-- Learned to beatmatch on one of the old purple Numarks back in '97
-- Progressive Trance/Deep House/Chicago Jack
-- New to digital Djing

I recently stumbled upon the Traktor Pro software and got a chance to play around with it. Almost as soon as I put my fingers on the keyboard, I fell into a deep nostalgic trance. It brought back memories of throwing my hands up in the air, dark warehouses, dancing until I was out of breath, and 4am Denny's coffee.

I bought the software that day. I've since updated to the newly released Traktor Pro 2 and am enjoying some of the new features. While that old Numark is long gone, I'm already building my own custom MIDI controller and looking at possibly purchasing a VCI-300.

Anyhow, it's great to find this community, as it seems some of you have some intricate knowledge about Djing, music and electronics. I'm looking forward to learning from all of you.
