I'm always changing my setup!

My preferred setup is Maschine, faderfox & Audio 10 but I'm soon incorporating the Korg Nano Kontrol for Sample Decks.

I still use the S4 sometimes, and I'm loving the S2!

The X1's are a great tool for teaching people how to use Traktor.

I use it all in different situations. The mothership video was more to show people how many controllers you can hook up to a PC and have it all work together. Microsoft asked me to do the video. I wouldn't use all that gear at a live show though. Its unnecessary. But I could!

Also a soon to be announced Traktor update is making me really love using vinyl with Traktor again!

Glad to be a part of the community!

Hey wasup Dj Tech Tools!!! Its nice to finally be apart of this community. After looking over some of the tips and watching a few of the videos on this site, i decided to join the community here. I'm pretty excited to be apart of probably the biggest and coolest community of dj's out there today.

A little about me.

I've been into the design and production of music ever since i was 17 (im 20 now) and I recently got into djing about a year and a half ago. I started learning first on Serato with Vinyls, being taught a lil slow at first lol. Then i started hanging around real Dj's and understanding, watching, and picking up different techniques. I was lucky enough to learn a lot in a period of time, both about the actual business of being a DJ and performance. I started too work with a lot of famous or underground artists. I was lucky enough to put on shows around the city of Chicago and tour down to Texas. As i was still learning and such, I kept believeing "there has too be something a little...different" Like..a different way to dj. Most (actually all) of the Dj's that I was hanging around at the time strictly used Serato (and downplayed the use of any other software, another trait in the DJ world that I've noticed is very popular) and at the time, I yearned for something just a little different.

Then i discovered Traktor. A friend of mine was just mad raving about it, so i decided to check it out. DAMN! That's all i can say haha. I remember the first time i touched it, I stayed up for hours just learning how to use it. Now, its the main program I use. I believe it honestly just gives me more of an opportunity to creatively express myself in my music, its an outlet that, for me of course, hasn't really been matched by any other DJing software. MAYBE the new Itch software has a chance...but odds are against it though! Haha.

So yeah, I've really moved away from DJing with Vinyls (how i was originally taught) too Djing with a controller. Their just soo much more fun! I know im gonna get some people that disagree with me, but the more the merrier! I believe we as Dj's are too rough on each other sometimes.

But anyway, I live in Atlanta. I'm a dubstep and house dj from the city of ATL! Taking over the city slowly lol, I've only been back for about a month and a half. I got this great job working for this Entertainment company that sends me on Dj gigs all around the city, and i have that matched with my solo career. DJ's around Atlanta get at me!! I have a pretty serious group that i'm apart of, were getting pretty deep now lol. One of my group members was booked to open and perform for Lil Wayne for the second time. That shit was dope!!!

I look forward to learning a lot from this site. I would like to broaden my Djing style.

1. Dj Kave

2. I'm from Atlanta Georgia, but Im also known and live in Chicago IL

3. I enjoy spinning a lot of dubstep and house, and mixing the two together.

hi all.... never have been comfortable with a dj name so have used DJS which is my initials and well hey it really abbreviates who I am....

based in wollongong NSW

been around turntables since I was 11 due to helping an uncle out at his gigs at local house party's

brought up in south auckland so heavily favour rap, hip hop, rnb, soul but love all music and try to mix anything...

Ohhey! I've finally decided to post something on this community .

My name's Vincent Dacio (that's da-show, by the way). Most people refer to me as "Onimode", although I deny this being my DJ name.

I picked up DJing in Sacramento, California, but recently moved to Olongapo in the Philippines.

I mostly spin house, trance, dubstep, and everything else in between in Traktor. I'm trying to make the move to Ableton Live though. :U!

I'm also pretty handy with Photoshop, and make kick-ass stuff. Like these:

MBJAY (Martin Beijer)

Sweden/Stockholm(the capital for those of you who do not know!)

Electro, some dnb sounds to mix that with and toss in a little indiepop and maybe round up with some very dirty house

mix everything, listen to most things(except death metal, gangsterthugkillingmasacre hip-hop and other extreme genres), trying to be innovative.

Ha! All the good ones were taken!

Seriously though, it's not for lack of effort.

I had a short list of like 50 names I was considering for a DJ name, but each time I came up with a good one, I'd veto it the next day. Once I started doing gigs, I found it was easier from a social networking perspective to just use my real name. In my city - Winnipeg - we have a influx of DJs with all kinds of retarded names, no-one can remember them but their close friends, and they all mostly play the same stuff electro and dubstep bangers. I've been mostly successful at making myself stand out by being genre neutral, and by shaking a lot of hands and introducing myself, as myself

2. Where you are from (City/Country)

Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada

3. Style of music you enjoy playing.

I've done gigs across all the major EDM genres (house/techno/d&b/dub/uk funky/breaks/electro) and about half of the rest of my gigs I've played exclusively non-EDM - pop/rock/metal/rap/punk, original versions, sans electro remixes :-) I could have just wrote I LOVE ALL MUSIC, but I felt a need to qualify it in genre terms.

One thing i'll never play: HHC/Freeform and all that way-2-fast non-sense for the meth heads.
