Hey guys, I've been following DJ TechTools for a while but have only been on the community s for a week or so. I am a former mix engineer, and songwriter. Currently I write for the music website Key Of Grey (hence my screen name). Just thought I'd drop by and say that this community is refreshingly constructive, in stark contrast to other music community s out there. There seems to be a lot of knowledgeable and helpful people on there which is fantastic. Cheers!

Hi everyone, I've been into record digging and collecting for quite some time. Worked as a pc tech then Guitar center, now in the navy. Lately I've been drawn into controllerism since december and since im now in the navy i cannot have the massive record collection with me; I'm just stoked i can continue this hobby and allow it to evolve in sweet ways!

Hi, thought I'd join the community while I'm waiting for my VCI-100 firmware kit.
(I've got a broken ankle too so have nothing better to do really )

I'm from Leeds, UK and am only just starting to really get into DJing/production following in the footsteps of most of my friends.

My main interest is in dubstep and has been since the early days (2002ish). I've noticed there are a few people on here with the same tastes.
Next to that, I like DnB, Jungle, Dub, Breakbeat and abit of most electronic music.

So hello and I hope to stick around for a while

Hey all,

I'm new here, and thought I'd say g'day to everyone.

I'm a friend of BetoSan's. I'm in the same city as him.

Now technically, I'm a producer first, and DJ / budding Controllerist second

I'm from Perth, Western Australia.

I produce many styles of music, ranging from primarily Drum and Bass, Breaks, Electro, House, Trance to name a few.

You can check some of my stuff at

http://soundcloud.com/teehaichcee

and

www.myspace.com/totalharmoniccontrol

anyways, I look forwards to contributing to this community . I'm sure I have a lot of expertise I can impart to whomever wants to listen

peace,

Hey everybody! I want to begin with saying, this community (as well as the DJTT website) are a fantastic resource! Spent the whole day checking out the setup thread, marveling at the different preferences and styles but also the simple universal enthusiasm for gear and dj-ing you've got on here!

Anyways, my name is Bj

Name: Mr. Whiskers (Reilly)
City: Oakland, CA / Middlebury, VT
Styles: House, mainly electro/fidgit/bassline and disco, and sometimes a little pop and hip hop

I'm a pretty new DJ...just started in January 2009, and I started straight with digital. Yeah, I'm of "that" generation. My current setup is Traktor Pro with a VCI-100 and Korg NanoPAD.

This site has been so helpful to me, it's amazing (it inspired me to get both my VCI and my nano pad), and now I'm just getting started in the community s.

Thanks JesC!! I can already tell I'll be spending hours and hours here! I'm just now breaking through to the "controllerist" side with an old 25-key M-Audio O2, SP-1 sustain pedal, and Traktor 3. So far I've created a simple .tks file to play, pause, loop, seek, vol's.. etc. but I'm chomping at the bit to dive into some more advanced controls! I've DJed with vinyl for about 8 years, so this is a little bit tedious because it's really like starting over and just learning the basics again... kinda reminds me of when I first learned how to assemble a headshell-cartridge-stylus... haha Anyways I'll be downloading Ean's Oxygen 8 .tks from the "MIDIMAP" portion of the site, and attempting to use/mod it to make it work on my O2. Wish me luck!!

hi to all

i'm kelsey, but i'm going by Heavy Mental.

i'm in Dallas TX.USA

just making the switch to full digital. In the past I played breaks/house/electro and I spun traditionally on CDJs and turntables. Going digital to incorporate more variety in BPM, as well as adding my own productions in sort of a hybrid dj/performance style. I'm most interested in bass, glitch technique and ambience...beyond that, i'm keeping it open genre-wise

I've been browsing DJTT for weeks now and found some great info. cheers
