Traktor Modifiers help with VCI100mk2
Posted on: 11.02.2011 by Illa Freidin
Hi,

I am using the VCI100mk2, and am trying to make a modifier to the play/pause button that when the volume slider of that deck is up, the play/pause button is disabled, basically so I can't press play/pause by accident when the deck is playing.

I looked and tried everything, but nothing seems to work.. I have gotten the idea to work with buttons, but not the volume slider.

Any advice?

sure, you have just to say the fader is a button under TYPE OF CONTROLLER

in this example is CH05-CC02 is the VolumeFader of DeckA

You can't use hold on a fader.

ok, then try the other one.

You will, that if the VolumeFader of A is "on", the play/pause button is deactivated.

Add Modifier1 (if you don't used it already)
Learn, move Fader.
Now say "hold"
set on 1

now if you slightly move your volumefader up, the modifier1 goes from value 0 to 1.

Go to your Play/Pause Button
modifiers conditions => M1 = 0

so when the volume fader is on 0 (down)
you can use Play/Pause
but if you move the fader up (just a bit)
play/pause won't work now

Cant use the play/pause button, modifier conditions => Play/Pause / DeckA / 0, cos then i cant use songs

well that's easy to do... but you don't need the fader...

say the play/pause button, modifier conditions => Play/Pause / DeckA / 0
so the button only works if deck is stopped.

Or add a Modifier to a fader, act as button, (perhabs inverse), Hold. So if the fader is up, ModifierXY is on 1.

it can be done

Yea, you can't do things like that with faders, only buttons. thats the problem
But was wondering if anyone found a way around this

I don't believe you can edit the midi notes of the VCI mk2. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Welcome to the community Modernmin!

I'm sure someone will know whether or not this is possible.
