The attached file is not completely finished but very close. Please contribute your own changes and upload finished TKS files or new ideas here so we can collectively build a better mapping.

Thanks!

mind to share your settings? i decided to enable scratching in my mapping too, so i would be glad about some good settings

I thought you meant when you touch the side(s) of the jog wheels - not the top.

Morbido is right - you get 2 notes on each jog wheel when you touch the top.

The B5/C6 are also set when you release the top of the wheels.

i don't really use scratch in tpro (if you did try to scratch a little bit in itch and saw how it could work you will be totally disappointed by the scratch function in tpro).

but believe claudek did a post on that topic somewhere around here... he even posted his settings which are quite good as far as i can remember...
can't remember right now where it is, but i guess the search will bring it up quite quick (the topic was something like "scratch in tpro like in itch")...

Good tip! Finally can scratch a bit now, need some adjusting tough, what are youre settings in traktor pro for scratch?

just put up the sensibility and try it, or try to touch the platter with your full hand (which is a bit tricky because you mustn't move it while doing that or it'll send out the cc message)...
Felix Harrer
16.01.2009
Thnx so far..
Gotta try that because i only get the cc, must be the sensitivity then,
Andriy Gavrysh
16.01.2009
actually because everyone says it sends no note you all make me believe about my sanity...

i'll take a look, i have to be sure that i'm sane!

edit:
ok, i checked it and i'm reeeally glad i'm not completely insane
if you touch the left jog you'll get a midi note B5, if you push it you'll get a midi cc 64
if you touch the right jog you'll get a midi note C6, if you push it you'll get a midi cc65

maybe you guys have to adjust the sensibility of the touchsensors?

I thought that on the VCI-300 it doesn't send a note when it's touched. Are you sure about this, Morbido (ps.. I could be wrong, I don't have a VCI-300)
Andriy Gavrysh
16.01.2009
but the vci has to send another note if you just gently touch the jogs - it won't send a cc, but it'll send a midi note (don't know the exact one by heart)...

every jog sends a midi note when touched and a midi cc when pushed in any direction.

From the actual jogs (the sides) I get:

cc64 (left jog) and cc65 (right jog)

Yep, only 1 on each
Felix Harrer
16.01.2009
Ok well i got now a brand new vci-300 again, but i still only get one midi channel from the jog, can someone test if this is right. I got cc64 (left jog) and cc65 (right jog).

Hehe, damn i'm stupid

I didn't have the translator running at the same time as traktor
Thought it was some kind of driver that you just set once...

All working now - except...

Did anyone work out how to get the track to continue playing after scratching when you lift your hand? Minor thing - im a house dj but would like it there if possible.

Yeah has to be something with your settings..

Did you enable "mini.Translator 1 Virtual Out" as Midi-Input in Traktor? And did you disable the VCI as Midi-Input?

Hi guys,

I'm a newbie here but was hoping you could help me - i'm trying to hook up my 300 to Traktor Pro.

I have installed the mini.Translator and asio4all and all is going well - sound works fine with cue etc.

But it's as if the translator isn't working in Traktor - if I don't select the 300 as a midi input device in Traktor Midi Setup the 300 will not work.

When the 300 is selected I can map everything except the pitch sliders and the top of the scratch wheels - which obviously is to do with the midi signal coming from the 300 directly and not being converted.

I have the blue light in the mini.Translator window when I press anything - my mini.Translator settings are the same as OZR's here : http://www.djranking s.com/community /att...0&d=1231166558

Any ideas?

I'm working on a tsi - got most things working and i've it all commented up -i'll gladly share as soon as I can figure out why the mini.Translator isn't working.

Thanks

oh, and of course you need a mapping for the controller (the tks file attached from ean on the first post).
I already tried that, but it stil doesn't work. Btw. Windows defined my VCI 300 as USB Audio Device... maybe i need to change the name of it somehow :-/?

But actually mini.translator shows reactions. The blue light is showing up by moving/pressing some buttons etc. - weird

EDIT: the tks file from Ean is loaded in Traktor

I upgraded from the VCI 100, so nothing should not change much except the sound card selection and the mini trans. Other than that what else am I supposed to do?

Hi,
i was using my VCI300 with ITCH since today. I was wondering how it works with Traktor.
Installed Traktor 3.42 + mini.Translator - since now everything was fine - but after hours of reading trough community s and setting up Traktor to make it work with VCI300, i came to the conclusion - something must be wrong. I hope I found the problem:

There most be something wrong with the INPUT, i've tried to select every of these - no response -> can't controll anything... but at least i can hear sound through my headphones connected on VCI(only if i press play with my mouse!!

can u help me:X?

I can hear the music playing but it sounds like an alien singing, not clear at all. What could be the cause of this. Are my settings screwed or if anyone has a sample of their settings it would be cool. I am also using Vista 64, so I'm wondering if the sound card in the vci 300 is compatible. The thing is I hear the sound just fine but its not clear. I'm using Traktor 3.41. Any help will be appreciated.

It did worked fine before and adjusting it doesnt work, gonna send it back now.
MadMan Ajms

did you try adjusting the sensitivity in the back? Sometimes this needs to be adj.
Stick with Itch first and once that is 100% working, play with Traktor.
Good luck.

believe my vci-300 is really broke now, already had the right jog issue in itch but that didnt bothered me with traktor, now i cant scratch anymore in itch
and in traktor the jogs only having 1 midinr.
Felix Harrer
26.12.2008
Wich cc's you got in your mapping from the platter?
MadMan Ajms
26.12.2008
top of each platter is metalic plate, which sends as a midi cc message. The outside of the platter is another cc.
Felix Harrer
26.12.2008
Very strange, for jog A i only get cc 64, can you look up the midinrs in your mapping?
