I am sorry if this topic has already been discussed before but while i was researching new songs to buy i found this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uc-cDIMoLMM

Like wtf seriously how can people listen to it? now i know production is a hard thing to do and making song, esecially a club banger, is no easy accomplishment. But seriously why is this song top 3 on beatport. As another canadian i ashamed to share the same nationality as this guy. Don't get me wrong deadmaus has a couple nice songs that i wouldn't mind listening to. However, the vast majority of his songs sound the same and have nothing special to them. Why does he get praised for being one of the best producers when his songs have no creativity in them. On top of that his personality sucks, and he has called djs "f*cking c*unts" in the past but still people support him?!??!?

Simply put: It's different. It's new and I've never heard anything like it before, which is why I like it.

And how is Skrillex butchering dubstep? I've never heard anybody with more talent and growling organic synths.

the guy does treat people like shit. He has started shit with rusko, marcus schossow. I like rusko and that made me certain even more when i heard that story last year that deadmaus is terrible person in general. My only reason to start this thread was to get a understanding why that song actually was top 4 in beatport i mean really can any of you guys justify that song being top 4?

LOL wow are people actually still pissed about what was said by him like years ago ? He just simply means that he doesnt get the people who get onto the big stage performing like crazy performances and getting paid millions for playing OTHER peoples songs, which i agree... Honestly IMHO i rather his stuff then the generic Dubstep. Dubstep is soo damn boring and no one can dance to that shit unless its electro dub.

*Edit* and not to mention his shows are phenomenal and WELL worth the money ( 50 dollars wtf !?!?)

Why do people like WWE, its entertaining. This dude is far from a DJ he just puts on a show that amuses a bunch of noobs. I'll admit I like stuff from his first album (random album title), thats it after that he stop producing anything worth while.

All his shows are exactly the same now. I say give it two more years and this fad will be over.

i don't hate the guy. Matter in fact i don't hate anybody ( one love- bob marley ) I myself like the songs "Sofi Needs a Ladder" and strobe but beyond that i see nothing special in his music. It's one thing to have a crappy personality and still make good tracks. But when most of yours songs sound recycled and they're in the top 10 of the edm charts. Thats what i can't understand, he gets so much praise when producers who spent hard time making creative and actually good songs barely get mentioned. Even dj/producers that have gone pop/mainstream still are creative to some extent like david guetta and tiesto. As much as we call david guetta a commercial wh*re i still respect the guy for adding different elements to his songs every time.

T'was Rusko. Two articles for your reading:

http://bit.ly/pcmLXj

http://bit.ly/n3Sr66

Quicker summary: Rusko angrily tweets, then threatens Deadmau5. Deadmau5 gives his two cents, calling out Rusko's stupidity. Nothing's ever really confirmed.

Also, I'm assuming the mau5 is experimenting with new styles and what not. Have you heard anything from Project 56 or Get Scraped? Much different from what he's doing now (chiptune FTW! ). After his first two albums, he went to progressive house, which is the genre he became famous with. Then with 4x4=12, he broke in some electro and dubstep. Now he's got "Deer Bus"/"Professional Griefers" and this. I like to believe that he's got great creativity. Before "Raise Your Weapon", I've never heard a song go from prog. house to dubstep in a matter of a few seconds. But because everyone's different, there's always another opinion that opposes yours. I heard a few people got together to make "deadrat6", in mockery of Deadmau5 because his songs sound similar. Aside from the haters, Joel's played with some major people, such as Pete Tong, Tommy Lee, Skrillex, Chris Lake, etc. Yes, he did call DJs "fucking cunts", in a 2008 interview. Later, he did apologize for his words. If this was so bad, how does he have essential mixes with BBC's Radio One? He's damn well accomplished, respected, and recognized as an icon globally. Yeah, he may not have the best personality, but I frequent Funnyjunk, so it's alright with me.

I would swap jobs with him in a heartbeat.

F**k all the haters.

"I'm rich bitch. I get to travel the world doing what I love, catch you on the flipside"

Eveyone has their own taste. What a mundane existence it would be if we are all the same.

If I dont like something, im certainly not going to post my feeling's on the Internet without it being constructive in any sense!!!!!!!!

the current crop of fans don't care that DJing is a craft...they want someone they can recognize...marketing rules EDM at the moment...(i hate that acronym)

props to mau5 for making his records AND making a name and money for himself...

i own a few of his records by the way...
