why do people like this guys Posted on: 06.09.2011 by Deanna Holbrooks I am sorry if this topic has already been discussed before but while i was researching new songs to buy i found thishttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uc-cDIMoLMM Like wtf seriously how can people listen to it? now i know production is a hard thing to do and making song, esecially a club banger, is no easy accomplishment. But seriously why is this song top 3 on beatport. As another canadian i ashamed to share the same nationality as this guy. Don't get me wrong deadmaus has a couple nice songs that i wouldn't mind listening to. However, the vast majority of his songs sound the same and have nothing special to them. Why does he get praised for being one of the best producers when his songs have no creativity in them. On top of that his personality sucks, and he has called djs "f*cking c*unts" in the past but still people support him?!??!? | |

I am not a mainstream hater if thats what your believeing cus i like tiesto, an sometimes i will listen to some top 40 tracks but skrillex, and deadmaus make me irritated. Nothing a dj can do anything about but refuse to play it. Most of deadmaus's and skrillexs fanbase is made up of drugged up teenagers anyways so after they grow up and i don;t really them succeeding much more because artists like these come and go. |
Loralee Erban 10.09.2011 | Mr mau5 is a genius beyond recognition, he made a silly hat and got a silly name which made him stand out for live shows and made people come and pay to see him perform and listen to his music, it's advertising, it's the same way dj bl3nd wears that mad mask and gets over a million views on a video in a month or so. Either way he gets to dj all over now, haters and indeed goina hate but I believe it's because of jealousy. Listen to strobe, I remember and 16ths And say he's a shit producer, look at how he can adapt to diff genres. I wish I could travel the world playing music I like in a different form to everyone else, having some of the best live shows ever seen.... And yes I do believe he's a dick of a person to be honest but that doesn't mean he isn't good at what he does, same way porter robinson annoys me but still play his music everytime I play live. |
Margie Pavell 11.09.2011 | why was your stupid ass overused skrillex gif aimed at me? who was hating? |

Deanna Holbrooks 08.09.2011 | deadmaus does have talent for sure. But he really be in the spot he is now is he never wore that silly mouse head and called himself deadmaus? Part of the attraction that people have to him is the shows he does, where there is lights, effects, 3d cube. Respect a artist for their music not for their brand is all i am trying to say here. |

As for deadmaus being a total jerk with a big ego, i am sure karma will get him one day. Just wanted input of other dj's around this community . Seem like anyone can get famous for making average productions and wearing costume with a weird name....... |

I don't believe the track is that bad but its def not my thing. But to the OP what style of music do you spin? If we all liked the same music the world would be a very boring place and DJ's would all sound the same.. Also if you listen to his tracks they all have that 'Mau5 sound' but all of his tracks are different in different ways. For example all of Wolfgang Garnters tracks have that 'Wolfgang' sound but people don't bitch about him but they bitch about Mau5 simply because he is taking the world by storm with his branding and production/performances. And as for your reference to calling all DJ's c*nts. So what? Stop living in the past man, the DJ is his biggest customer and some of his best friends are DJ's so he doesn't hate them that much.. |
Diogo Dj Dragão 08.09.2011 | If you're wondering why he called DJs c**ts, refer to your original post. Seriously, if all you can do in front of your computer is nerd rage against someone who has helped popularize electronic music, you should probably unplug for a while. I would say the same thing about Skrillex, Tiesto, Basshunter, or any other artist out there that's been maligned for being successful. You don't have to believe they're good - but do you really believe your little post on the internets will start a groundswell of anti-whoever and you'll be satisfied? If yes, you are a moron. If no, then why are you expending energy to be negative when no satisfying result is possible? |

The stuff I prefer rarely makes it into the Top 5 - does that mean it's 'not as good' as something that does? Is a Top 5 track better music or a better production? I play both deadmau5 and The BEPs - because they suit the occasion, not because they are Top 5. Top 5 certainly does say something - it says mainstream support. I'm not saying that's bad - it's just not my scene. |

As for the whole Deadmau5 argument, I never care who the producer is or what he/she's done if my ears like it who cares I've bought so many whitelabels over the years and never found out who the producer was. Seems these days everyone can just pull up a profile and judge the music by the person |
