The cheap cloned adapters are obviously not made in the same factories which is why there is a significant delay in their release after the official product, and why quality is severely lacking.
I don't believe you can tar them ALL with the same brush, because there is some very, VERY good Chinese unbranded hardware out there.

On the upside, at least the only charger to beat the Apple stuff is the Touchpad charger that I have TWO of behind my monitor

Of course. They're ALL built in China anyway, usually by the same factories.

The Apple brand chargers in particular get excellent feedback, based on how clean and consistent the output power is viewed through an oscilloscope.

Yeah, you don't want to cheap out on something that you depend on to work during a set. It's just not worth it when it's one of the cheapest parts of your setup.

I meant clone the ICs as well. That's the problem with the current Chinese clones, they're all "no analog or USB audio/video". Jesus Christ China, it's not hard... take an Apple adapter, decap the ICs, stick 'em under a scanning electron microscope, and manufacture copies.

Even if they sold them at $15 a pop, they'd still make a KILLING.

Please, what ever you do just buy the Official Apple Convertor. A HUGE percentage of the 3rd party 30pin to lightening convertors do NOT pass audio & power and this is proved time and time again over at the NI community .

As much as they are, the Apple convertors are worth the money.

Bad cheap, Buy twice.

.........And for the love of GOD can people stop recommending that different methods of converting 30pin to lightening work because they don't. Period.

I just received my Z1 and was quite disappointed when I found out that the filter knob didn't control the FX on Traktor Pro like the Traktor DJ demonstration video(!?). So I mapped that feature right away.

I was believeing about getting this to pair with my s2, since I hate being restricted to 2 decks, but I decided to just upgrade to the S4 instead Still a great product though!

How is that your upside? A main brand charger performed well - much better than the knockoffs.

There is of course decent hardware out there, but mainly in original products rather than knockoffs. Your unbranded RCA connectors from China didn't make it so far despite your initial reassurances.

EDIT2: The fact that China can't clone these things is MENTAL.

That one works as well. It's just a converter from USB-A to USB-B. Same wiring, other layout of the plug. There are no electronics in these adapters.

They're two really different controllers. If you want a cheap, small controller entirely for internal mixing get Z1. If you want to control the decks with the possibility of doing some internal mixing (I reckon that would be a bit uncomfortable, though), get K2.

I'm really tempted of getting one of these, but Xone K2 still looks much more functional.. Any body tried both units, how do they compare?

There is a significant difference in electronics between Lightning and 30-pin though.

Edit: Here's what the inside of the Lightning to 30 pin adapter looks like:

These do work fine. Like said, there's no electronics involved. Only a change for connector type. USB-A is the flat connector type, USB-B is the square one mainly used on older peripheral devices like printers. They both got the same wires (0V, +5V, D+ and D-). Unlike the mini-USB or micro-USB where there is an additional wire for manufacturer specific functions.

Hey guys, I've just posted a video to YouTube showing a walkthrough of the Z1 with both Traktor Pro and Traktor DJ, with screen recordings on the Mac and the iPad to give you an idea of how simple this thing is to use!

Hope some of you might find it interesting.

Cheers!

I clicked your link and receive a error:

"Application Error

EDIT: page is working now!!

This would be nice for the dreaded top-40 gigs. Lugging the DJM-850 to those is honestly overkill. Lulz.
