So what do you play?

I have been a member of this community for a while now and all I ever see is people chatting about dub step, does anyone play anything else.

I personally play house all types but mainly tech house, quite like a bit of electro aswell.

Seems like mostly techno/tech house/ house guys, and electro/ dubstep guys, with some harder stuff and trance sprinkled in in. Although, I've always figured there was more DnB on this community ....

Lately I mostly play 4 deck sets that go back and forth between
50% newer banger-style DnB like Camo&Krooked and Pendulum that I mostly double-drop;
and 50% Glitch Hop stuff like Koan Sound and Opiou that lets me do a lot of performance stuff like effects combos and cutting.

Or, less often, I do sets based on layering with electroswing and prog/electro house. Looking forward to trying out remix decks for these style sets.

I play a very wide range of things.

For my Alt evening s which I've been doing for over 11 years:

goth, industrial, ebm, futurepop, alternative, 70s, 80s, 90s and bits of hardstyle and hardcore creep in too.

for my citycentre club residency (I used to be a mobile DJ in the 90s and got a residency last year when moved to Manchester)

chart, 90s, 00s, many genres of dance, rnb, cheese + party tracks

I also love playing electrohouse and filthy US eclectronica like Designer Drugs/Haezer/Cyberpunkers (not even sure what genre they are) and they've been creeping into both my main evening s over the past year or so.

this weekend I'll be playing pretty much all the above. Toevening covering for a 90s evening , then my resident Friday and then Dark-Cide (my alt evening ) on Sat. Really looking forwards to it all but believe it might break me (each evening will be just me doing a 5 hour set with no breaks)

I'm really big on glitch hop and electro house, glitch hop especially, and dabble in DnB and dubstep. Sadly, there are no scenes whatsoever in my city (unless you call top 40 a scene).

When i started out I loved my electro music, but i moved through commercial house, then tech-house and minimal, then deep house/minimal with a love of techno and old-school progressive thrown in, and now i'm into dub/experimental techno, really dark nasty shit! really ambient stuff, with some of it just being absolutely relentless. its great because theres so much to play with, you can really work up energy levels then take it right back down before building it up again, which I love because for years my idols were John Digweed and Sasha, ever since I got into dance music around 2009, and they were the masters of taking you on a journey. still are!

I've only played out a few times at house parties but I like to play rap/hip hop when people are starting to come in and once the place gets full I play a three or four song sequence that transfers smoothly into house. I don't know what all the specific genres of house are called these days but I play a lot of the same stuff that I hear people like Afrojack, Benny Benassi, Nicky Romero and Alex Metric play live.

I like to play moombahton, but I don't have a ton of music so I play popular electro/house stuff as well.
