Did you really just hate on someone for not NEEDING to use all the fancy bells and whistles available to make his job easier? I didn't hear any trainwrecks. Being able to mix "the hard way" isn't a bad thing, it's not leaving it to chance, it's showcasing skills.

...and yes, being old school IS way cool.

Confetti cannons = Awesome

I agree with you. I believe he should use the technology available. I am wondering why he like CD's. Maybe he had a disaster once.

But my point is that the music is what makes the DJ, not the technology.

I grew up watching guys throw down amazing sets with vinyl, a mixer and tone controls. When the filter knob was introduced it was magical.

I doubt anyone on the dance floor could see what kind of gear he is using, or even care.

Just a random thought.

And all you need to rock the house is one ipod and the right music. The rest is just added bonus.

A more on topic thought.

i guess high price equals high tech to you. What I meant is he's not using Rekordbox, a laptop, iPad or any external hardware.

I was believeing of Richie Hawtin as high tech.

You mean the $5400 "CD" setup hes rocking? A pair of 2000's and a 900 nexus is about as "high tech" as you can get. You're acting like hes pulling this off on an ipad app.
