David Guetta's new mixing technique

At first sight it looks the gear is off, no spinning circles on the cdjs or vu meter action.

we already had a huge thread on this video. as much as i don't give a shit the CDJs/mixer are totally on in that video. There is a giant spotlight aimed right on him and the gear which washes out the LEDs in the video.

bright as day in there, you can hardly see guetta it's so bright let alone some low intensity leds/lcds on the gear.

this is stupid. it also doesn't make any fucking sense the gear would be off even if he was miming. if a DJ is miming they would put a premix CD in- you wouldn't have a huge stage with a ton of people on it and turn all of the gear off with everyone in on it not giving a shit or noticing. "hey guys, after the opener is done DJing and using all the gear be sure to turn all the gear off when guetta gets on since he won't use it." doesn't make any sense.

the second part, who cares? he was a stage prop for a pop event. what do you expect? that's like getting mad at DJs for acting in commercials and music videos.

Ok, give me 8 gold and 23 platinum albums, give me his tour through Asia in October and also the number of other concerts and festivals he does every month into 2013 along with

playing three Thursdays a month for his residency at Pacha in Ibiza, plus 35 million likes on Facebook and 6.5 million followers on Twitter and you now what, I probably wouldn't give a diddlysquat about what anyone believes about my DJ skills and I will certainly from time to time hit the play button to run a recorded session to make sure I don't blow a show completely for my fans, because maybe I am so friggin jet lagged from all the travel or or I flew in 30 minutes before a show, because my jet had technical problems and I couldn't prepare properly or because the light show is preprogrammed to a certain set or for what ever other friggin reason I may have. If you don't like it, well, that is just too bad for you, I guess dude! You certainly should do what I do first and then we can talk about whether it is wrong or not to just press play and let a recorded session run.

I don't want to even know why you dug this back up.

But if it's the video I believe it was, you could see the orange light on the CDJ was clearly on.

Page 5 for me, just the right amount of posts per page. 20/page

Less than that and I keep having to click to the next pages, any more and I scroll up and down for hours..

Visual and FX sync is bullshit. Angello says it's the 10 last mins, and all the rest was true mixing.
That means a guy, when angello launched his recorded mix, on a pre-defined moment, pressed a button to start the countdown ? Then why doesn't he press the buttons on the beat.
Not to mention the "smoke cannons" on the right are a bit off-tempo sometimes. Messy work for something that was pre-planned.

Not going to debate again on this old stuff, that was just to clarify the situation for Karlos.
Let the kids enjoy his 100% sample music and it's over. He's lucky that Knife Party "power leveled" SHM.

Tosser.

There, i said it. Hes not even attempting to look like hes mixing. He chucks his headphones on the table behind.
Theres a lot of excuses on YouTube about syncing to the visuals or something so he had to play a medley..? Never heard of it.

Well seeing as sometimes he can play 2 or more sets in a single day or criss crossing between so many times zones that his jet lag would make any DJ too fucking tired to gig it out. I'm not saying he has an excuse all I'm saying is to the people that believe "someone like him" wouldn't do that then you really don't understand the amount of shows these people do. Is this a once in a blue moon, probably. I wouldn't doubt that if he had to play 3 Nights straight all over Europe by the third evening he's popping in whatever CD he can find just to catch a break.

He's gotta make that $$$$ That's how you rake in the big bucks.
