Your Gig/ Party Pics Posted on: 25.10.2010 by Wanda Insel Hi there,I was believeing that although we all speak daily about where we play and what we do for parties/ gigs/ actual DJ jobs, everyone else doesn't get to see it so why not start this thread to upload pics from said Gigs/ parties etc that you play anytime (if you feel they are generally viewable , I'll leave out mine where I'm wearing cowboy boots and nothing else). | Kasi Marget 01.04.2012 | Hey With a bunch of friends we started an association aimed at organizing parties based on good musical taste (not that top40 you can hear all around) and nice atmosphere. We held our first gig on 24th of March, and we were expecting 130 people. At the end of the evening we counted 250ish tickets sold :) As i'm proud of what we did, I'd like to share some pics that I selected, to sum up the successful start of our adventure. Setting the scene up (i'm the skinny guy in blue) We had guys putting neons on the trees outside. They did a lot of work for a stunning result (but the pic here kinda suck) Soundcheck before the gig starts. We had "beginners" DJ that were not comfortable on CDJs so we had a massive setup. 1st guy mixvibes controller + mixvibes. 2nd guy Pio CDJs. 3rd Numark CDJs. 4th S4 + traktor. 5th (me) CDJs + timecode. "The one who throws up is the one who cleans." We had 2 VJs for the evening . They set up an awesome thing : camera on the booth that is displayed on the 2 screens you can see here + on a LCD TV in the bar (room aside) Warmup DJ starting his techy/minimal set while people are coming in. We spent like 3 fucking hours setting fluorecent ropes from the top of the wall to the botton, so that the room was a cage. Also, you'll notice the ropes were set up horizontally in the dj booth, as a ring. VJs. They did a nice job all evening long. A party without morphsuits is not really a party. Sound guy. Crowd during the 2nd set. "Everything's so weird" -> This guy is the president of the association (aka my "boss"), he's fucked up. 3rd set of the evening . Techno/Minimal. 4th set beginning, + me cleaning up the table from the numark CDJs :D "Dis iz wicked lol" 4th set ending, me pluging everything. So much rage. Starting my set, thanking the crowd after their sung "happy birthday", I turned 20 that evening . MMmh, wtf am I gonna drop now ? Build up. Drop. These guys waited all evening for some dubstep/brostep, they were fed up by techno and stuff. Ahaha. Another drop. 2 types of behaviour. Girls surrendering, guys raging hard. We had all amplifiers and shit just behind us, the scene was hot as hell (no double pun intended) That sums it up for this unforgettable evening . We managed to regroup a bunch of people giving us their time without asking for money back : Photographer, bartenders, VJs, lights guy, etc. We won't stop the adventure here for sure, so if you liked these few pics I'll keep you posted on our next events.
