producers - what headsets you use?
producers - what headsets you use? Posted on: 27.10.2010 by Nikki Mcpeek when it comes to producing, what headsets do you use and feel that they really REALLY help you in music production and this is when you cannot use your monitoring speakers because of a late evening
issue.and i know many go through this so music production headsets is important as an alternative to monitoring speakers when you cant bang the music anymore? so what sets do you use and love? | |
Treva Carinio 11.11.2010 | I use my 5-year old Sennheiser HD25, I also use them for DJ'ing and in the last 5 years I only had to replace the cushions, besides that they still look brand new. Best HPs I've ever had! |
Charolette Landicho 03.11.2010 | I use AIAIAI TMA-1 now. Because mastering i dont do myself and really low and high frequencies i cut out anyway with the EQ. Tma-1 has really nice bass and highs so it will help you not turn the volumes too high. kinda nice gimmicky club feel in ur headset. For me they are the best so far |
Dreama Brehon 29.10.2010 | gonna get slated for this but, I have a pair of 'Dre's. I bought them for when I started college and have opened my ears to aspects of tracks I had never heard before. Plus great for producing. |
Many Atia 28.10.2010 | AKG 240s. They're the shit. Long ass cable, comfortable design, only tiny flaw is the lower mids get a little grating on the ears after 6+ hours but that's hardly a fatal flaw. |
Keith Mermer 28.10.2010 | sennheiser hd 25-ii's for me. i can only compare them to cheapo consumer sony brands.... by which the hd's blow outta the water (of course) in terms of separation and definition between sounds. i can have the eq all flat and still hear what the bass and kicks are doing. |
Rubi Gamradt 28.10.2010 | I won't use anything other than IEM's, Shure are my current brand. I been using IEM's for production at evening
time (I'm pretty nocturnal) and to DJ with Ableton Live for over 6 years. I owned Sony HDR5609 and Sennheiser HD25, one of my best mates has Pioneer HDJ200's. I like mine the best and look forward to upgrading to the SE535 or a set of customs. As I am the Tech Editor of Ibiza-Voice I actually have a set of the Ultrasone DJ1's being sent out to me soon for review. |
Breana Singerman 28.10.2010 | Ultrasones is the brand, here's a link to the studio headphones, http://www.ultrasone.com/index_en.ph...7&setStyle=pro I have the 900's myself, plus I also have their DJ1 Pro Headphones for DJing. Firm believer in their headphones since my first experience using them, and nothing else has even come close to being as transparent, accurate and comfortable as these guys have. Great for extended listening periods, i.e. studio work, and are also awesome has DJ cans as they sit very comfortably and offer great noise cancellation. Did I mention how accurate and transparent they are? You can't do much better for the price. |
Random X 27.10.2010 | AKG K242HD... It;s awesome and almost has the same characteristics of the Mackie HR624 MkI |
Amada Brierley 27.10.2010 | Best Headset for producing. Hands.Down. INMAGINE THE POSSIBILITEZ |

Breana Singerman 27.10.2010 | Ultrasones by far, best sounding headphones out there and are good for extended listening |
Ling Zambada 27.10.2010 | They look to be aimed a little more towards DJing than production work. Here's their website: http://www.v-moda.com/headphones/crossfade.aspx I'd be upgrading from some five year old headphones. |
