Sound Modules
Sound Modules Posted on: 20.02.2011 by Halina Gopinath I was looking into getting a MalletKat just because i like to play percussion, does anybody know if you can get good quality vibes, marimba and xylophone in kontakt?I'm not too keen on shelling out for a rack mount sound module but they do seem like the best idea, i was wondering if kontakt would be reliable enough and i would maybe even invest in komplete eventually. | |

Jetta Drenzek 21.02.2011 | Kontakt is fantastic. Tbh, you can't go wrong with any NI product, they're practically the best. But there's no point buying Komplete if you're going for the percussion stuff, you'll only want kontakt and Battery. And possibly reaktor. The problem is each NI software is like a new instrument, and as such can take YEARS to "master". So you know, buying komplete is like buying a music shop. I know this because I bought komplete. I walked into that proverbial music shop, and I went ".... AWESOME", I ran to the most expensive guitar, plonked on it, ran to the awesome drum kit, bashed away some horrific sounds, same with the piano, and then I felt disheartened I'd spent so much and still wasn't number one in the charts. NI have a tendency to make out their product will guarantee you success in the music business. Not directly, but how they market their products. But to answer your question simply, yes, with the MalletKat and Kontakt, you'll be a versatile percussionist. |
