Need leveling tips for a particular track

I could really do with some feedback on my leveling here, in particular for the maximal part between 1:00 and 1:30. I am not really sure how loud the sub-bass should be and I also find the hihat/snare percussion to be a bit too high-cut.

What do you believe? Thanks in advance

But there is a bit of low to them that I like so much

I was able to lower its volume a little and keep the power with some improved EQs, so I guess I am going in the right direction now.

Thanks, there actually is a drop-out after a few bars. Maybe I'll add another drop or a variation but I am not sure about that, yet.

I could drop off more of the low at the part when the beat sets in but they need the low when they are playing solo after the build-up. I am definitely going to look into compression, though...

Thanks for your advice so far, guys!

i totally agree with this. you can't even hear the kickdrums really, while they sound about perfect later on. often it just takes a very little less volume.

no experience with eqing it in here.

Do you mean the toms that start after the breakdown/buildup? Because I actually wanted to have them into the foreground

definately at least see what eq's you can cut from various elements to make the mix sit together better while still allowing the stuff you want to cut through properly.

I guess you're right. Lowering its volume while still having it prominent should be possible with good EQing. It's not easy, though...

That's fine, but it's still overwhelming to the point where that's all you hear and you can't make it out anything else.

Or just EQ it better so it sits in the mix better
