fx presets not working
fx presets not working Posted on: 12.05.2010 by Barbie Whorf I love my new VCI100se, but for some reason the fx preset buttons don't do anything. Now that I'm becoming a bit more proficient using the mouse is getting really irritating - any ideas?edit: when I press the button the led comes on but turns off as soon as I release the button | |

Just give us something to work with. The FX selectable from the "FX Presets" list are activated by pressing the little button and at the same time selecting the deck (with the appropriate headphone button) you want to assign it to. If you press the headphone button a second time while still holding the little FX button, you get a preset setting for the chained FX. BUT you must have Traktor Pro or Scratch Pro to have chained FX. AND you have to have chained FX selected (either in the Preferences or by selecting via the FX Type button on the VCI). If that doesn't help, give us your details and we'll do our level best to get you running! Phil. |

I need to get the new overlay, I have been looking at the Jpeg file on the new layout. Do I install both of the updates 3_5.1 and the Glitch, and just the effects twice? Thanks for all your help, you guys are great! |
Barbie Whorf 18.06.2010 | Well does anybody at least have any suggestions apart from installing Windows 7? |
Barbie Whorf 07.06.2010 | If the others post their system details it would probably help us - guys? |
Barbie Whorf 03.06.2010 | Thanks for taking the problem seriously. 1. Set-up: Computer, OS, Traktor version (and whether Pro, Duo, LE or Scratch), soundcard and anything running along with these in the computer. Hp pavilion dv3, Vista Home Premium 32bit, traktor pro 1.2.6, audio 2 DJ. VCI100SE 3. TSI: Exactly which TSI are you using? VCI-100SE3_5 (GLITCH FIX) 4. Description of what you are doing and what Traktor is/is not doing. Previous posts: "....fx preset + headphone button turns *an* effect button on, but never the one I'm pressing. When I try the same button again (with relevant deck headphone button at the same time) it doesn't turn the fx off. It doesn't seem to do anything at all." ".....I tried switching between modes using fx type - it makes the first fx preset on the left deck come on, but it won't turn off, and all the others are still random." "When I hold a fx preset button, and then press a headphone button it successfully changes the bank of fx that are loaded onto that fx bank. But what i want is just to press the button on it's own and it turns the the fx slot on or off. I don't mind just using 2 fx slots on each deck (1&2 for deck A and 3&4 for Deck B) and I'd edit it myself but there's sooooo many fx controls assigned in the control manager and none of them say "fx slot 1" or 2 etc." Any ideas? |

Dillon Boxer 01.06.2010 | I have the same problem too. My presets are not working and it is stuck on preset 2. When I make the change, the light stays on till I let go and it goes back to Preset 2. |
Harry Freudenthal 21.05.2010 | ive got the same problem by the way. the preset LEDs never turn on and the fx dont change. |
Barbie Whorf 13.05.2010 | Yes, both. When I hold a fx preset button, and then press a headphone button it successfully changes the bank of fx that are loaded onto that fx bank. But what i want is just to press the button on it's own and it turns the the fx slot on or off. I don't mind just using 2 fx slots on each deck (1&2 for deck A and 3&4 for Deck B) and I'd edit it myself but there's sooooo many fx controls assigned in the control manager and none of them say "fx slot 1" or 2 etc. I've got a gig tomorrow by the way! |
Madalene Ranjan 13.05.2010 | Have you tried reimporting your TSI file? Also, are you using the most current version of Traktor Pro? |
Barbie Whorf 14.05.2010 | Yes it's Traktor Pro, and I tried switching between modes using fx type - it makes the first fx preset on the left deck come on, but it won't turn off, and all the others are still random. |
Corine Kasman 12.05.2010 | Are you using Traktor Pro? If so, make sure the FX is turned to chained (use the FX Type button on the top right. If your in Traktor LE, there is no chained FX so it wont work properly. Phil. |
Barbie Whorf 12.05.2010 | Thanks for the quick reply. I've just remembered that I tried that fx preset + headphone button when I first found the problem. I tried it again now and the same thing happened as before - it turns *an* effect button on, but never the one I'm pressing. And when I try the same button again (with headphone button after) it doesn't turn the fx off. It doesn't seem to do anything at all. |
Corine Kasman 12.05.2010 | Press the FX button, and while holding it press the headphone button of the deck you want to assign it to. If you hit the headphone button twice while holding the FX, you get a nice setting of the FX too! Let us know if this helps. Phil. |
