Reply to fx presets not working

I love my new VCI100se, but for some reason the fx preset buttons don't do anything. Now that I'm becoming a bit more proficient using the mouse is getting really irritating - any ideas?

edit: when I press the button the led comes on but turns off as soon as I release the button
