Xone 1d issues with mapping to traktor...help Posted on: 09.03.2011 by Alan Boldizsar Ugh this is getting annoying. Just bought a xone 1d, all excited to get it mapped...thing is unresponsive. The LEDs (on the xone) light up but traktor is reading nothing. I have it hooked up with a usb cable, I see the xone midi in preferences and have made a general midi section with xone 1d ins and outs, but when I try to make the xone learn a function/action, nothing happens. I press learn, move a fader/press a button, nothing. Traktor doesn't even see that anything has been pressed. I've tried importing other TSIs to get this thing maybe kick-started but to no avail. I've tried changing the cord set-up: having it plugged into the computer directly, plugged into a powered usb hub, using a midi to usb (the ones you would use for a mixer) cord, nothing. It seems like the 1d itself works, traktor obviously works as I have multiple controllers that I have mapped...but they just don't work together. Anybody have any tips or anything? I've mapped 2 midi controllers and a mixer before so I am not new to mapping. I cannot figure this thing out Edit: Also wanted to add that when I move a fader/turn a knob on the xone, no midi light turns on in traktor at all....maybe a defective product? | |

Teresia Janusch 11.03.2011 | have to say i use the 1d with traktor on a mbp with no problems... the LEDs will come on solidly when there is power going to them, to get them to respond to traktor outputs there are settings within the 1d you need to change. when you set it up, did you pick a midi channel to work with? is the correct map selected? have you tried selecting the midi notes manually inside controller manager, instead of using the learn feature. are u using it through a usb hub? i know that can cause issues. |
Clelia Braccini 10.03.2011 | Seems like you found a fix, I just want to add my problem here for those people looking in the future. When I got my Xone 1D, I immediately downloaded and installed the latest drivers from A&H because I'm running Traktor on the new Macbook Pro. So I thought I should do the same on my DJ partner's regular Macbook. After I installed the drivers, everything was being recognized, bu non of the information was going through; meaning Traktor, Ableton, and the AudioMidi setup, recognized it was a Xone 1D, but none of my MIDI information was read. This was on the usb cable. When I switched over to a MIDI-to-USB cable, everything was going perfectly fine. I don't know why, but on the regular Macbooks, it's best just to use it's standard CoreMIDI drivers. So I unistalled the drivers for the Xone 1D, and just plugged in the Xone via USB cable and it works fine. |
Alan Boldizsar 10.03.2011 | Edit: Got it working, never mind. Need to buy another $40 frigging midi to usb cable though -.- |
