Maschine being a midi fighter mapping help
Maschine being a midi fighter mapping help Posted on: 06.06.2011 by Lucilla Cerini hey guys,i am very new to mapping and ive done my best at making a maschine midi fighter for the instant gratifictation but the problem i have is that i cant switch the deck focus, i get all the effects to work on deck a but thats it, it seems like the top 4 button dont work. what i did was made a template mirroring the midifighters midi notes, but i guess i did somthing wrong. any ideas? thanks | |

Lucilla Cerini 06.06.2011 | yeah that is true i get what youre saying, so groups a b c d on maschine would be deck focus for the midi fighter, and groups e f g h would be for what ever else i wanted right? and all should work? sorry for being such a nooob lol |

Lucilla Cerini 06.06.2011 | on a side note, are there any good djtt articles i could read that explains midi mapping, both simply and the more advanced mappings? i tried the search but i didnt really find what i was looking for |
Lucilla Cerini 06.06.2011 | ah okay, yeah i dont know loads about maschine in terms of midi but i wanted to use the group buttons to i guess "change" the midi templates of the 4x4 grid, for example on group "a" he 4x4 pads would be a midi fighter, while on the other hand group "b" could be some transport controls within traktor, while group "c" was somthing else of my choice, maybe used to control a VST effects processor tru ableton. so im guessing i would have to take Zestoi's second approach? some midi translation? i have noooo clue what that means haha ill google |
Chasidy Heckenbach 06.06.2011 | the instant gratification map uses the midi fighter in 4banks mode - so internally the mf switches what notes are sent out for rows 2,3,4 based on what top row button is selected. you'd need to emulate that by using banks within maschine itself (which looks like what that first thread photojojo posted uses) or using some midi translation software between the maschine and traktor (which is probably overkill) |
