HELP! mapping beatmasher changing values w\o turning effect off!!

okay, this may take awhile to explain. first, thanks for anyone who helps, this is giving me a major headache. okay, so i have a Maschine controller and i would like to do a midifighter similar beatmasher mapping where i can press one button, and it turns my masher on and sets it to value lets say 0, then if i press the button to its right, it will change the value of the current beatmasher effect to lets say .50, and then another button to .25 and so on. the problem i am having is, if i press the first beatmasher button (value 1.00) and then press the second button (value .50) it works, it changes the value all is good, BUT if i let go of the first beatmasher (1.00) even though its on the .50 beatmasher, the effect turns off. my workaround for this was to have like effect unit 1 have 3 separate beatmashers, which is taking up a lot of room for other effects i would like to use. i believe it has somthing to do with the mapping that i set, each button loads, turns dry/wat to 100%, and turns on beatmasher. i believe what i need is some modifier stuff, to say like when beatmasher 1 is already "on" dont re-load beatmasher or somthing like that? i just want to be able to like hold down the first one, and then maybe press some other beatmashers to get some hi-hat repeats or somthing and then go back to the other valued beatmasher without turning it off. does anyone know how this could be done? also, when i set a mapping to change from group fx to single, and then turn that effect on, it takes to presses, one to change to single mode, than once again to engage effect, anyway around that? thank you so much, and i promise to upload this mapping when done i just want to finish so bad! thanks!

You're welcome.
There are several sources around to get you started with the basics. Open and have a look also at other's mappings as it may help to get some ideas and better understanding too. Even if I don't own Machine I know there are several good mappings for the unit around and some pretty advanced users (and there's no need to reinvent the wheel either).
If you can invest in the Traktor Bible, that seems to be a good counsel if you want to go deeper. But I appreciate you say you'll need to do some research as doing a bit of homework, trying stuff (and failing) is quite a good part of the learning process (well it was for me at least).
A good soul from the community will probably bring support and guidance in case of dire need of course.
Sorry as your question is a bit broad and I can't be very specific

wow thanks Yul, is there anything you recommend looking up on how modifiers work? i know just about all the stuff about basic mapping but mods are a whole new worls and i believe i would need to do some research! thanks yul!

Hello,
this has been asked several times.
Create a modifier set to increase for each of your buttons and create for the same buttons a decreasing modifier set to invert so your effect will turn off only when no buttons are held. Add the modifiers conditions for your fx 'on' functions accordingly.

No, direct selection of fx is not possible if you're changing from a mode to another for the fx unit(s), it will remember the previous fx that was/were loaded in the previous mode.
