Breanne Penge 14.01.2013 | Nice one I've found my move to Mac for DJing has eliminated a load of issues. Happy to say I haven't had so much as a glitch in the last 4 years. |
Len Lukawski 14.01.2013 | Why do all the Communists pick on me? And enough tongue already! |
nayit ruiz jaramillo 14.01.2013 | You're an idiot. Turn it on, use it. Keep the Windows shit off it. Stop whinning. (J/K) Did I tell you that I love you recently |
Len Lukawski 14.01.2013 | Ohhhh, I bought into the iPhone a whole back! |
Lilliana Perris 14.01.2013 | Enjoy it....you will not look back. Once you are over the stage of "I am the man....as I can service my own laptop and make it fast again"....then the Mac will be VERY appealing. I am so sick of Windows i can cry. After almost 20 years of working and supporting it....I am done! Now I use the Mac as a tool, without having to even believe about updating AV, drivers....clean up....etc. Once in a while I give the Mac some love and even then....I believe its just for my own sanity than actually needing it! All you need now is an iPhone! HAHAHAHAHAHA |
Erich Fearday 13.01.2013 | I havent tried boot camp but i use a program calld parellels which allows me to run windows (only for Music Manager by Denon to analyze files for the DNS3700s). Parallels allows you to run Windows & OSX at the same time and you can just click from one to the other without reboot. I hate windows because it reminds me of work, Haha. |

Random X 13.01.2013 | Welcome to the OS with cool MIDI stuff already natively supported. Things like MIDI over WiFi/LAN. But, I sincerely hope you'll like the UI. I love the CMD + space quick key combo. (after that just start typing what you want to open, no paths needed etc.) Regarding bootcamp, haven't needed it thus far in 4 years. |
Leeanna Ayla 13.01.2013 | Cleverly annoying maybe. |
Len Lukawski 13.01.2013 | I'll be the judge of how much help I need. Welcome to the world of me not being as clever as you believe I am. |
Leeanna Ayla 13.01.2013 | Welcome to the world of not needing all this help you believe you do. |

Bootcamp; I wanna run win7 on a separate partition so I can use it for work, Any tips, places to reference for getting. This running? I'll probably just figure it out from YouTube videos.
Apps I use Frequently: FFMPEGX - Video Converter Audiacity - Audio Editor / Batch Converter Midi Stroke - Midi to Keystroke emulator. Soundflower - Internal 16ch Virtual Audio Routing Keka - For Zipping files without including the crappy "Dot" files. BatChmod - Drag and Drop Batch Permission Editor Keyfinder - Find keys of Songs MacSaber - Because its cool :P VMware - Run Virtual Machines including Virtual Macs. Onyx - Clean up log files/indexes/repair permissions, speeds things up. |
Len Lukawski 13.01.2013 | Anyway..... Now I have some Mac heads on the thread, I want your opinion on; Bootcamp; I wanna run win7 on a separate partition so I can use it for work, Any tips, places to reference for getting. This running? I'll probably just figure it out from YouTube videos. Knowledge: I know fuck all about macs - any suggestions in good sites, community s, YT channels to help get educated? Apps: what are the OSX apps that you use the most frequently? I'm especially interested in apps that are OSX only. Accessories/peripherals; what are you guys finding you can't live without? |

Carisa Ridgel 13.01.2013 | I need to eventually make this leap of faith as well (and I owned a MacBook previously, not currently though) and seeing all the Windows shinies for a fraction of the price isn't making it an easy choice, so threads like that really are a great motivation. Thanks And congrats on your purchase! Mac sure has some badass hardware. |
Jarod Perrodin 13.01.2013 | You will love it, good choice |
Ok Moroski 13.01.2013 | Welcome to the dark side. I transitioned about a year and a half ago, having been a hardcore PC user for 20-odd years - haven't looked back since. |

Len Lukawski 13.01.2013 | I believe I might be gluten intolerant |
Antonetta Wikel 13.01.2013 | Welcome, we have cookies. |
Marcos Zelko 13.01.2013 | I'm sure you will enjoy it. I'll be ordering mine end of the month, non-retina tho... Only thing that really turned me off was the glass display on the RD over the matte on the non-retina. |
Len Lukawski 12.01.2013 | This is by far the most amount of money I've ever spent on a laptop. It had better be awesome.... |
Charline Dye 12.01.2013 | Hahaha didn't believe I would hear this news ever. Next you'll be tossing it all for Linux. |
Pasty Vancor 12.01.2013 | I believe one thing I would also take into consideration is also reliability. Which OS is less likely to crash. Which laptop has the best battery life in case the power trips out. Which laptop is less likely to have a hard drive failure. ^ I believe making sure you have a reliable laptop will alleviate a lot of headaches, and keep you from buying new ones. For me I don't have an issue with windows but if I were to upgrade I would go with a 3rd party Linux OS, and yes I use Traktor as well. |
