Awilda Boggie 20.01.2013 | some people here don't even know what they are talking about... I got both OSystems.. you cannot basically just say mac is better than windows if the only thing you do is make/mix music. Mac is really a closed box in comparison to Windows. and they are both stable osystems. it depends more on what computer you run the system on. the newest ultrabooks come pretty close to the price of MBP they are as good/stable as a MBP. Oh and before calling windows crap, shit: without windows there was never going to be a mac and I'm not a windows-freak, nor am I an apple-freak. i'm just the guy who's neutral |
Tawna Ulmen 20.01.2013 | I came from windows, never shall I return! |
Joselyn Supina 20.01.2013 | I have the same laptop minus retina (got mine in 2011)...spent $100 on Amazon and threw in 16gb ram. I was always a windows guy..."my pc can do anything your mac can do, and for half the price" Then I got my mac and I dread turning on my work laptop each day. The mac was just intuitive, the learning curve was a couple of days, if that...and it has a trackpad that you can actually use unlike the crap on windows laptops. Congrats. Enjoy having a computer that just works. No need to mess with the settings constantly. No updates every week. |
Len Lukawski 19.01.2013 | My mbp retina was $1800 as a refurbished unit. I decided to get this one as ssd was a base requirement and with $350 off the retail price - nothing else made sense cost.-wise. |
Jenae Hensarling 19.01.2013 | I'm running bootcamp on my current 2012 13" cMBP. If you have any knowledge of windows installations its very easy, in fact, I believe it's easier than installing windows on x86 parts. Apple creates a driver package "bootcamp" to be run in windows once your done installing the OS. Its as simple as launching bootcamp from OSX, partitioning your OSX drive, reboot with Win7 USB stick, follow windows instructions and then install bootcamp driver package. Last but not least update windows and put some virus definition/firewall software on. Microsoft Security Essentials if you dont want to pay for anything! I debated really hard on getting a Retina MBP but I couldn't justify the cost vrs. lack of upgrade in the future, all for a better screen. I currently have a 256gb OCZ Vertex 4 SSD boot drive and a OWC Optibay in the CD slot using the factory 750 gb HDD. All in all, I'm extremely happy with my choice, but, like others have said, once you see the Retina screen compared to the standard definition modle, you'll want the retina screen. |

Len Lukawski 18.01.2013 | It's still outnumbered 7:1 by the Redmond massive but the f&cker is rather fast.... |
Karolis Petrauskas 18.01.2013 | Holy Jesus... The earth just shook. Honestly, it's a nice platform and I use it at work. Multiple workspaces are where OSX beats windows in terms of work flow. Enjoy, embrace and keep a vmware version of windows 7 ready for when (and you will) need it. |
Len Lukawski 18.01.2013 | It's currently sat in the dining room - all the other computers in the house are nervous. |
Klara Kinnebrew 18.01.2013 | Well OSX is Unix, Close enough... |
