Traktor Mapping: Remap Hotcue
Posted on: 13.08.2012 by Oralee Zaber
Hi,

I'm new to the community , and first of all let me say: keep up that good work. This is a great resource!

I hope you guys can help me out mapping Maschine in Traktor.
I really like what Ean's Track Prep Tool does for the S4, so I decided to map my Maschine in a similar way.
I alreay studied the preptool.tsi but I stuck now.

What I have so far:
1st: Pressing the grid button on Maschine sets a grid marker
2nd: I can adjust the phase with the two arrow buttons on Maschine
3rd: I press Pad 1 and it stores a new hotcue and transforms it into a load marker

Now the problem:
I wanna programm a macro that remaps my second hotcue (the load marker) to hotcue position 1.
I found the command "map hotcue" but I miss the command to finally map it to position one.

Any ideas?

Thank you in advance

Involved one modifier and got this working. Button 1 press - set cue1 grid, button 2 press - stet cue 2 load (M1=1 direct), button 1 again - set cue1 to load+grid on release of button delete cue2.

Damn, you are right! You should explain it like this in first place, definitely. I'll see what can I do about this.

Thats not right. Go ahead and try this. Set your grid marker on position one. Move your phase. Add a second cue, make it a load marker. Now click on map and remap it to cue 1. Your grid stays exactly the same and you only need one cue slot

You need one cue to be grid any way. You can't overwrite first because lose of grid markers. However you could map first cue to be load and second to be grid. Ever tried that?

Ok that's what i already have. If i keep it that way i have two cue markers for one position. So i waste one cue point. Thats why i want to remap it to one position

To set load cue should be like "set/store" and "cue type selector" (set to value - load).

Ok but what is the parameter I need to map this to the button?

Don't overwrite it just add dat second with load marker on top of first (grid).

Sorry, I'm not a native speaker, I try to explain as good as I can

The main problem is, when I transform the grid marker (on cue 1) into a load marker the beatgrid get back to auto grid. When I store a second hotcue and transform it into a load marker and then remap it to position one the grid stays exactly as I set it up.

And now I want to build a macro that does all these steps with two buttons.

Button 1:
set grid marker (cue 1) -> i now can adjust the phase manually

Button 2 (when phase is perfect):
Go to hotcue position 1
-> add a new hotcue (cue 2)
-> transform cue into load marker
-> map hotcue (mapping button is activated)

and now I need the last action to finally overwrite cue 1 with cue 2... it's like pressing on cue 1 with the mouse.

I hope this makes things a little bit more clear.

"I wanna programm a macro that remaps my second hotcue (the load marker) to hotcue position 1."

You can make hotcue #2 to be load marker but you can't set it on hotcue #1 button?

Seems like I didn't found a stable solution. Sometimes it works, but most of the times not.
Still struggling finding the command to map hotcue 2 to position 1. Your help is appreciated.

I found a solution. It's a very long macro now, but it seems to work. I will share the template when I'm done
