literally ZERO help with midi fighter 3d
literally ZERO help with midi fighter 3d Posted on: 23.01.2013 by Eura Hollifield sooo ive posted on here before and obviously people are too cool to help me or they dont know a damn thing about the midi fighter 3d. no one can help me program the thing for myself so i get to just use the they have sound packs for free. and even better, dj tech tools wont send me their weekly emails so im stuck with like 14 sound packs, 4 of which dont even work. im kinda getting pissed off over here, because its been a couple weeks and the most help ive gotten is: "to put sounds on it, use the drum rack in ableton." HOW HELPFUL DESCRIPTIVE. can ANYONE help me? im really trying not to waste this $250 controller by only being able to play other peoples shit thanks to a lack of help and understanding. | |

Eura Hollifield 24.01.2013 | they just responded to me on facebook again. they said theyre having delays due to NAMM and the email will come this week. |
Random X 24.01.2013 | Wasn't able to find things from this end, so I have alerted the San Fran crew. |
Eura Hollifield 24.01.2013 | yeah, DJTT replied to a facebook post i made and said there would be one last week but it neve came :/ |
Eura Hollifield 24.01.2013 | thanks man. at least im pretty sure i dont have a spam filter. i use icloud or an @me.com email and the only thing resembling that is a junk folder, cant find any spam options. should i maybe try making a google account and see if thatll work? |
Kellie Myrum 24.01.2013 | Hey tekki, same here - haven't received a weekly e-mail in a while. |
Random X 24.01.2013 | Dude, not trying to offend, you don't have have to apologize. Just believe of how things come across over the community
s while posting. Weird that the emails do not come through. I will have a looksy. and see what I can come up with. |
Eura Hollifield 24.01.2013 | oh wow. how many times do i have to apologize for coming across the wrong way? i didnt mean to sound rude. anyway... ive resubmitted my email to the weekly list several times, every time it says its already on there. and i dont have a spam filter. hmmm. |

It's a matter of tracking it down and toning down your tempered approach. For Ableton help, I suggest looking through the "Mad Zach Weekly Soundpack threads" and seeking help from there. I'd also tone down the 'attitude' that came across in your initial post. Guys on here are more than willing/able to help...sometimes even hand-hold, but not if you come across as whiny pr*ck. |
Random X 24.01.2013 | Mmmmmm.... let's keep it on topic guys. |

Janyce Henningson 24.01.2013 | I wasn't replying aggresively cnewell - apologies if it came over so - sometimes things read differently to how they're wrote. My point was the midifighter should be plug n play with ableton - check Dan's post here: http://www.djranking s.com/2012/07/0...n-controllers/ Once you have one drum rack working (which you have - Zach's) then you can make your own and they should work just the same. Or you can open one of Zach's packs and change the samples in that one, then save as another rack. |
Leeanna Ayla 24.01.2013 | I deleted my initial reply yesterday. |
Random X 24.01.2013 | No worries, I hear ya. |
Jonathan Chiuchiolo 24.01.2013 | yep that is exactly why I replied... |
Random X 24.01.2013 | cnewell1993, people are reacting 'aggressively', on the boundary of trolling, due to the 'aggressive' nature of your first post. This is why I am not editing any of the responses, I trust you'll understand this decision. |
Jonathan Chiuchiolo 24.01.2013 | serially you just load up a drum rack with the new sound and do as steve says and press 'midi learn' for the midifighters accelerometers 'I didn't watch the vid, but it's called basics so it should cover loading samples.. if not it's drag and drop bro' |
Janyce Henningson 24.01.2013 | I don't have a midifighter but I don't believe you need to do any mapping - you say it works with Zach's drum racks - what you need to do is learn how to make your own drum racks by the sound of it. http://www.djranking s.com/2011/10/1...ve-drum-racks/ |
Random X 24.01.2013 | Please take time to watch your account settings over at the shop. Make sure email is correct, and you're the mailing list. If that seems in order, please make she your spam filter isn't marking them as spam! |
Eura Hollifield 24.01.2013 | thanks man. you too. |
Delena Katherman 24.01.2013 | It's all good, man. It's a steep learning curve, but it's worth it. We've all been there. Hell, I'm still trying to figure out how to make all this shit work smoothly. Best of luck. |
Eura Hollifield 24.01.2013 | by no means do i hope to instantly become an expert haha. im an artist, and i know any form of art takes a lot of time and practice to get down. i do appreciate everything DJTT does, but i dont appreciate not receiving emails im promised. which is the only thing i brought up about them btw, lol. and its hard not to get angry when jumping into such a complicated world. i dont mean to take it out on anyone, but fuck, when you have no idea what youre doing and you just blew a decent amount of money trying to pursue something you love, frustration can mount up quickly. so im sorry if im sounding like a dick. |
Delena Katherman 24.01.2013 | It seems like you bought some professional/expert gear and software, then got mad that it didn't instantly make you a professional/expert. I know it's frustrating, but this is powerful shit that takes some time to master. DJTT just provides the tools (and actually provides more guidance and tutorials than most pro gear companies), but they can't be responsible for making sure you are qualified to put them to good use. Relax and take your time. Keep asking questions without getting angry, and you'll eventually get the help you need, man. |
Eura Hollifield 24.01.2013 | i have been reading the manual. doesnt make it any less complicated. |
Jonathan Chiuchiolo 23.01.2013 | rtfm, that's what it's there for... or you can learn python for really advanced stuff in ableton |
Eura Hollifield 23.01.2013 | i guess a lot of my frustration is coming from a general lack o knowledge on ableton |
Eura Hollifield 23.01.2013 | my brain... thanks for the help |
Kellie Myrum 23.01.2013 | Replace knob with tilt, both are analog controls. |
Eura Hollifield 23.01.2013 | doesnt explain how to add effects to tilting, and barely touches on using my own sounds. also MF3d doesnt have knobs. :/ |
