Tatum Ansaldo 27.03.2011 | I use an external monitor at home, cos 13" is fine for Traktor but 19" is better! goes for many things in life |
Candy Monz 27.03.2011 | In terms of screen space, unless you were trying to run multiple programs at once, i.e: adding in ableton, a bigger screen would just mean a larger view of the program. I guess you technically would have bigger waveforms, etc, but in the end it wouldn't make that big of a difference. |
Rey Holubar 18.02.2011 | Just a question to throw in. But does anyone use a stand at home that holds the laptop and a larger monitor next to it to have a Windows (or Mac) extended desktop? I mean, I come from a programming background and am looking to get into mixing music too and I notice a lot of people using just a laptop at home. But there is an easy way to add a monitor to a laptop and have basically over double amount of screen space. Almost all good programmers work that way and I was wondering, would it help out with mixing to to have more screen space? Something like this scamo |

Random X 12.02.2011 | Thanks for the insides on these two, Tarekith! I know that I will, or will not, be saving up for. |
Gigi Weese 11.02.2011 | I don't put my Laptop in front of me but on the side otherwise it is blocking my view to the dancefloor. |
Mariano Godina 11.02.2011 | Yes i agree, that crane stand being able to adjust to a Z shape is a real bonus. I also found that some of the other stands blocked the top controls of the S4. |
Monserrate Rupnow 11.02.2011 | Like was mentioned earlier, I don't see how people can slide a stand under a bit of gear like the S4 or a mixer and still use them. On all the laptop stands I've used, I could only put them about 2-3 inches under the mixer before the laptop on top completely blocked my view of the device below. If not all of the device, then at least the top controls. In the case of the S4, this is the gains, effects knobs, or top EQ controls. The crane being able to do a Z shape helps some, since I can kind of put the laptop at an angle over part of the S4. Uploaded with ImageShack.us |
Mariano Godina 11.02.2011 | Interesting, i like the feet idea Tarekith, might look into that. I would still rather find a laptop stand that has a super flat base so it will slide under the S4. I'll keep hunting! There's got to be one out there. I seem to be remember seeing a video by a guy from crane showing it sliding under a mixer, i'll have to look into that because that looked perfect. |
Monserrate Rupnow 11.02.2011 | I use these feet for all my gear, raises the back of the S4 up a little so you get a nice angle: http://www.believegeek.com/interests/giftsunder10/a695/ |

Shalon Jaranilla 10.02.2011 | Well it's a nice stand and i bought it, but it's overpriced. Might be a guy thing |

Monserrate Rupnow 10.02.2011 | Thanks guys, glad you found it useful. The Crane Stand guys were not so happy about it though. Kept telling me I should make more positive and fair like Ean's review was |
Hailey Westen 10.02.2011 | very good review... |
