If its an extension of traktor (gridding, browsing tracks etc) I'd hope it'd be free for traktor users! If its a stand alone app like iMaschine though well it will almost certainly cost.

Agreed this is definitely the lamest tease they've released yet. Z2 and F1 drove me crazy trying to analyze every frame of video to get details

hoping it's a full iTraktor app. I need to buy a new laptop but if I can get away with just a new Ipad then I'll be happy.

but chances are it's just a prep app.

Still hoping for iTraktor.

(Especially with me having to upgrade anytime soon, would love to hook up my S4 to an iPad and be ready to spin!)

It's only shoddy if you don't set an adhoc network. I've never had any issues with it. That said, if it's some sort of control app I'm sure it can be set with a cam adapter to a computer or they might add compatibility with the Kontrol line via a powered hub or the power chord of the controllers that have one plugged in.

I'm betting on a 2+1 deck standalone app. Biggest benefit would be sharing your traktor HCs and grids, maybe even have the library files (not the music files) sync via wifi, saving having to render again the waveforms on iOS.

I REALLY hope it's iPad 1 compatible, otherwise I'll have to let it pass. Upgrading is not an option for me any time soon.

I'm gonna take a guess and say it has something to do with the remix decks. Something that let's you make clips and launch them in the app to practice on the go and import them into Traktor. I can see that as a way to promote their remix decks and possibly boost sales of their F1 with purchasable sample packs to download within the app just like iMaschine.

Who gets "into the groove" when doing track preparation. A track preparation app makes no sense because its an unnecessary added step in your workflow. There's no reason that they couldn't just be messing with a traktor app and using the built In speaker.

Plus I feel like that's a lot of hype for a track preparation app. This is definitely being teased as something big, much different compared to the launch of iMaschine, sure it's a fun app but it doesn't change the game by any means so it wasn't hyped.

heres what we know...
-we have never seen the ipad connected to anything, so quite possibly a self contained app.
-the word groove has been mentioned, so maybe something to do with maschine.
-Ritchie and q-bert both have use for it, even though they are in 2 different styles of music.
-in NONE of the photos do the artists have headphones on?? interesting...

im believeing a preparation app, which would put them squarely ahead of serato, and keeping pace with pioneer.

This is just speculation based off ni leak last year for the f1 but I don't believe we'll see any news until march. NI leaked the first f1 video mid January and released the shiftee video in mid march. The iPad app was leaked around the same timeframe.
