M-AUDIO X-SESSION PRO layouts
M-AUDIO X-SESSION PRO layouts Posted on: 29.04.2008 by Thisun Manuranga Hello All,The X-Session Pro seems to be a great starting-off MIDI Controller, extremely light and configurable. I was wondering what other users of this device have done to set-it up for use with Traktor. I am still experimenting but seem to have settled on: Top Knobs and Faders - keeping the far-left-hand colum for effects (knobs only), the middle two columns as my normal A-B channels (decks 1 & 2), and the far-right-hand column as a bonus channel C (deck 3). The Crossfader - Using this as a normal cross fader (ie not using it :P Play/Pause Button and the one next to it for loops. Not using the two keys above it. I use the T2 L/H Filter and the FX Layout for the far-left-hand column i have is top knob = Amount, middle knob = Hi, Bottom knob = Low. I am interested as to what other configurations have been made. murat | |
Random X 30.04.2008 | Okay, cool. The only thing on this controller is the possibility to have an additional track selection, so that no additional controller would be needed. (Yes I believe the nudge needs to stay. ) |
robert chanda 30.04.2008 | "Loop" is for drop-a-loop-right-here (I forget the correct function name). Handy when you need a track to go on just a bit longer while you wait for the other track to kick off. |
Random X 30.04.2008 | Looks interesting Fatlimey. Loop, is that for loop/track selection, or marking and playing? |

Adil Laresh 30.04.2008 | i use a similar setup the play button is play/pause next button is loop (normally 8 bars) the above 2 cursor type arrows I use for adjusting the bend of the track similar to speeding up a record or slowing it down with your finger... this way when i get my vci-100 i can replicate similar function with the platters outside faders are for pitch inside are for volume a/b respectively crossfader is crossfaer i have set the pitch faders to 6% in traktor ro make them a little more accurate since a cdj has a much longer pitch fader. then I use the inner knobs for hi / mid hi / low outer knobws I use for pan / mid low / gain I also have a trigger finger as well which I use for effects and scrolling + loading tracks into the decks.. if anyone wants my tks file let me know its nothign special. I am in the process of redoing the trigger finger since I have a lot of duplicate functions rather then selecting a deck and using an effect on focus deck.. I want to introduce some loop manipulation stuff so I would need to free up a few pads on the trigger lol the stickers are pretty cool... where are you based Murat? |
Thisun Manuranga 29.04.2008 | This is what mine looks like so far (custom sticker job not yet finished!!) |
