Logitech's NEW usb controller for Traktor!
Logitech's NEW usb controller for Traktor! Posted on: 12.04.2008 by Fady Soliman Ok ok it's not really what the title states! LOL! Due to the lack of a controler that has all I need I have been using a Logitech G11 gaming keyboard to control traktor. I decided to make labels for my keys and thought it might intrest others. I used masking tape at first and then with a marker hand wrote what I wanted. This looked pretty cheap. So I started looking on the net to see what was available for keyboard key labels. After some thought I started making my own. This is what I came up with: Using windows excel I made a chart and created my key labels. Size wise I made them smaller to fit the keys. Printed the chart on a 8 X 11 sheet of label paper (that has peel and stick back) on a coloured printer. Next I laminted it (with a small laminator at work), now the trick is to have it laminated nice and hot so the plastic sheet sticks to the paper. If it's not hot enough there will be bubles and the labels will look dull. If it's too hot the whole thing will warp. You will know it's good when the labels are nice and shiney. Next I cut them out one by one. Peeled off the back and then stuck each label to the keys. One tip is NOT to use your fingers for this! Using tweasers made it much easier to align the label on the keys. Here are some pics: http://www.native-instruments.com/fo...ad.php?t=64398 If your intrested in the excel file or tks file for this let me know. Update: k had more ppl ask for this and old link is down, heres a new one, added pics in the zip file: http://rapidshare.com/files/17256767..._FilesPics.zip | |

Fady Soliman 11.12.2008 | cool, yeah i prefer a controller over the keyboard but i have done mixes with the keyboard that didnt turn out too bad. Using a controller is much more easy to eq quick, its harder on a keyboard |

Fady Soliman 10.12.2008 | no they dont, the keys do light up but once u put the labels on u cant see the light. i actually tried a clear label and printed on it but it didnt work good at all. i couldnt see the label and the light of the keyboard barely came through |
Jacquetta Doram 10.12.2008 | Do the labels glow in the dark? Nice Work |

Dj Gjaka 13.04.2008 | Looks good man, nice and clean. Just another example of the kind of innovative and personal aspects that digital DJ'ing promotes in people. |
Fady Soliman 12.04.2008 | working great, i use to just memorize the keys now i dont i have the effect buttons labeled 1,2,3,4 for both decks and also the knobs have the arrows up and down keys for control. i havent set up any loop keys yet, tho id like to get my hands on a vci-300 so i wont need the keyboard. |
