I can't tell you how happy I was that Bome had already done all the heavy lifting, interface design, bugfixing, and marketing on that beast.

The number of buttons/knobs on the APC40 is great.

For Ableton: I can't believe of another controller that gives you as much functionality.

For Traktor: I use it to complement a VCI-100. I like the traditional layout of the VCI-100 and use it to EQ/mix/browse and load tracks. The APC40 gives me access to pretty much every other feature in Traktor without having to use a lot of modifiers and double assigning buttons.

Nevertheless, the APC40 can function very well as an all-in-one controller.

hmm, either having too much fun or puling your haur out getting the mappings right. I believeing whether to buy the APC 40 and xone1D or whether one will dobetter for Traktor/Ableton use.

Not sure if Tom's review was mentioned yet. He is a good guy, so just use the link at the bottom to Amazon and grab the APC40 for 399$.

I picked up mine today. It is great. Build is solid and the unit is very low profile.

Does this come with a software utility that allows the MIDI out data from the device to be modified? Should I care? Ableton and Traktor both seem to be pretty flexible on the MIDI interpretation tip, but I love how the zeroSL let me define the messages (as opposed to just 'learning' inside Torq, for example).

the build quality seems good. the size isn't that bad I don't believe. not with all the controls it has. the chassis is like an mpk49. it's lighter than i expected. the only complaint i have is the lack of an xy pad. it feels really weird controlling the x y parameters on two separate knobs. That can be remedied by an ipod touch or a monotouch though

niiice! I didn't realise it was that big
how's the build quality?

Hey. Sorry It's been almost a week and I only had an hour to play with it so far. Here are some pictures of it right now. Hope to see more pictures of your setup when the 30th hits.

I put down 435 yesterday and paid in full at my local guitar center. The guy let me see the box, and I can't wait till the 30th. He showed that they had six and I was the second to reserve one, so my local guitar center has 4 left.
