120+ I/0 Midi Micro Processor?
120+ I/0 Midi Micro Processor? Posted on: 20.02.2010 by Andy Cavelli Not sure if this is the right section, but here goes anyways...Ive looked around a bit and have not been able to find a midi processor that will give me 120+ In/Outs... Im believeing I will probably need to go the DIY route and get a couple of chips and a custom PCB. Before I do that I thought I would put the question out there. Any ideas? | |

Andy Cavelli 20.02.2010 | awesome thanks! |
Iola Obradovich 20.02.2010 | Ok i see what you mean, its actually quite easy to add many more i/0 pins to a microprocessor through multiplexing. Their is a good article about multiplexing on the arduino fourm that describes it better than i can. http://www.arduino.cc/playground/Learning/4051 |
Andy Cavelli 20.02.2010 | nah a micro processor or micro controller.... Ideally it would be similar to the hale umc32. I know you can link 2 of them together and get a total of 64 i/o's, not sure if/how you would go about linking 4 of them. Plus that would get pretty damn expensive! |
Iola Obradovich 20.02.2010 | What exactly do you mean when you say a midi processor with 120+ in/outs, an off the self midi controller with 120 different inputs (switches, sliders, encoders, etc)? |
