ssl w/denon hc1000s

howdy. i know this is mainly a traktor community but as i have not been getting much help anywhere else i thought i might try here as well. i am using ssl with a denon hc1000s controller. i would like to make a copy of page 1 of the mappings and change a couple of buttons but cannot seem to do this as ssl wont let me map the shift key+another key while mapping. can anyone please point me in the right direction? maybe it takes completely remapping the controller with 3rd party software...i dont know. its kind of weird since it does not seem to be straight midi mapping. thanks for any help.

oh yes. i have read this article once but i will give it another look to make sure i am not missing something. the mod on the ssl board says you cant map the shift button at this point. however, even controllers like the x1 seem to have more assignment control thru the software that comes with the controller. hmmm...

If not I'm sure someone will be in here shortly with an answer. Paging Pilmat to the blue courtesy phone.

i know what you are saying, it is the coping part i have not figured out. the assignment is set in ssl which doesnt have midi control similar to that of traktor. that's why i was wondering if i could accomplish this with a third party software, preferably for a mac. all of this is a little over my head. thanks for the reply!

As I do not use SSL, I am not sure how well this would work, or if SSL even allows mappings with different midi channels. You could have your main page assigned to midi channel 1, and the copied page assigned to midi channel 2.

Then on the DN-HC1000 you just use the "shift" key + the browsing buttons to pick the channel.

Files - channel 1
browse - channel 2
history - channel 3
prepare - channel 4

After selecting the channel, the hotcues will show the selected channel for a moment.

Might not be the best solution, but doesn't hurt to try.
