What headphones should DJTT carry?
What headphones should DJTT carry? Posted on: 04.08.2010 by Jodi Lacerra Hey guys, a while back we polled facebook and twitter regarding which DJ headphones people would most like to see us carry. Based on the responses we received, the top choice was Sennheiser (HD-25) and the next closest was Pioneer (HDJ-1000/2000). We had to put off our headphone exploration for a bit due to Midi Fighter production but now things have mellowed out a bit and we are looking into headphones again. Take the poll and if you vote "other" please reply to this thread with what the other would be. We are going to take a close look at the votes so your input is greatly appreciated. | |

Mercedez Psaltis 06.08.2010 | The Sony MDR-7506 are my favs. I have been using them for years. I just found them on [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Sony-MDR7506-Professional-Diaphragm-Headphone/dp/B000AJIF4E/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1281102283&sr =8-1"]Amazon [/ame]for only $84 new. Would you believe that my first ever pair of headphones, in 1988, was a RadioShack brand. It was wildly popular among our local DJs because the ear cans swiveled, it had a coiled cord, and they were loud. After those were no longer available and mine finally died, I tried a few other pair before finally settling on the Sonys. |
Virgie Igler 06.08.2010 | man those sennheisers are pretty brutal looking, They may have amazing sound but holly crap they are uneasy on the eyes... As much as many of you despise the Sony MDR-V700s I have to say they are really good bang for buck, and apparently they're fairly easy to do a customized paint job, so maybe DJTech could have custome DJTech headphones?! but if I had to choose between the two options, I would go with the Pios. |
Leigh Derbyshire 06.08.2010 | The HD 25-1 IIs. The SPs aren't worth carrying. Also, you can usually find them at various places for 150$, not sure if DJTT can sell them at that price though. |
Takisha Hodulik 05.08.2010 | Sony MDR-600s if you want to carry a $100 Pair http://www.guitarcenter.com/Sony-MDR...80-i1126814.gc I say this because they do not have the crappy construction the 700s have. a friend has had his pair for some 6-7 YEARS and they are jsut starting to loose sound quality. I have them myself and the construction is great, but if u are going to jam out place them around ur neck Gianmarco |
Loretta Lignell 05.08.2010 | Sennheiser HD 25-1 II's all the way! |

Leeanna Ayla 03.08.2010 | Which HD 25's are your refereing to? These retail for around $200 [ame]http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-25-1-II-Professional-Headphone/dp/B000W8XRKK[/ame] And these retail for around $100 [ame]http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD25SPII-HD25-SP-Monitor-Headphone/dp/B000TDXPSC[/ame] I always assumed people were referring to the $200 pair when recommending headphones. |

Eldora Longchamp 03.08.2010 | Hd25. And I get mine for $109 :P Ultrasone DJ1s are also a great choice |
Random X 03.08.2010 | For me and my big head, I get a headache from wearing the Sennheisers too long. Voted the Pioneer HDJ-2000, sound is really great, they fit awesomely around my head, and they have some of the best buildquality I have seen so far. Thing is, I somehow would find it really cool if DJTT would go retro on the old Technics headset! |
Taylor Baines 03.08.2010 | Hd 25 iis are my top choice. They are amazing in every way, and I doubt I will ever buy any other headphone besides them. |
Kandra Fagler 03.08.2010 | sennies hd25 for sure - i have had mine for years and years and they showed no sign of degradation whatsoever |
Leeanna Ayla 03.08.2010 | If your only going to carry one I believe the HD25's are the most popular most recommended cans out there. If your going to carry more than one maybe look at a $99 set like the HD280's, $150 set like the HDJ100's, and a $199 set like the HD25's. |
Graham Frazier 04.08.2010 | You should carry Sony MDR-SA5000's.... ha, go with the Sennheiser's. As much as i love my 5000's, they are unrealistic for most djs. As most people don't want to carry around $500 headphones. And most dj's prefer more sound isolation. I received mine as a gift from this crazy girl, and if that wouldn't have happened i would still have my HD25's. Just please don't carry the Sony MDR-V700's, I'm tired of seeing so many dj's using these horrible headphones. |
