Why Pioneer before Allen & Heath?
Why Pioneer before Allen & Heath? Posted on: 09.11.2013 by Anja Ursprung Hi,Does anyone here prefer Pioneer before Allen & Heath mixers (you have to tried booth to have a valid opinion) effects aside? I have big problems to understand why, as I believe Allen & Heath is superior the pioneer. | |

The twelve buttons on the controllers are a little awkward as they are very small circles and you have to push them about 4mm to make contact, they feel like a heavy spring mechanical keyboard to the touch. Every thing else is great and really high quality. The only difference between a 92 and the 4D is that the eq has 3 bands instead of 4. I believe you would be better off with a 92 and two K2's but the 4D is still a great option especially for the price they often go for on the second hand market. But the best thing about having 2 K2's is you can use them with any other mixer that a club has, with the 4D you would have to take the entire unit. |
Sherrell Dargenio 11.11.2013 | Seems like the best topic to ask this in: I'm considering upgrading from a Kontrol S4 to a Xone 4d, of the 'all in one' controllers it really seems like it has it all. It's expensive as all hell but I really can't see myself needing anything else after. Opinions? |
Latoria Kavulich 11.11.2013 | i've used a lot of Pioneers and they make great mixers, the only A&H mixer i've tried is the 92 and loved it. as mentioned above, once you hit the higher price brackets its personal preference. no excuses for a mixer not to have adjustable infinite kills these days though |

Petra Arra 10.11.2013 | Im leaning towards the pioneer on my next mixer purchase because most of the people i know use them. its not that I want to conform to "industry standard," it's because pioneer is always available for purchase here in my area as oppose to A&H. |
Augustine Mitzen 10.11.2013 | workflow/pio being more user friendly? never used a xone, so i can't tell from experience |
Lewis Stumpf 10.11.2013 | Isn't "Industry Standard" something you become by paying for a lot of endorsements? |
Matt Kane 10.11.2013 | booth companies have their pros and cons. it is all about preference. cue function on the a&h sucks. the pioneer sound < a&h sound 4eqs? i don |
Edwardo Rothenberger 10.11.2013 | I'm an ex-sarnd engineer. I got an Allen 'n' 'Eath Xone92, and fink it sarnds fuckin' wicked! I"M BRITISH!! |

Pioneer mixers tend to be more "Industry Standard" and their newest models are quite good. It kinda comes down to personal preference when you're comparing higher $$$$ models of each. |
Nancey Inderlied 09.11.2013 | Both of them are pretty great as mixers, but the "preference" for either kinda depends on what a given workflow/install really needs, and what model of mixer you're looking at. No professional brand or model is necessarily better than another, its all about the context. |
Margie Pavell 09.11.2013 | I believe after you spend more than 500 bucks on a mixer it all becomes personal preference... I had a Xone 22. Loved it. Sold it. I now have a DJM 250. Loving it. |
Kenda Raedel 09.11.2013 | If only Wolfram and hart made mixers. |
Len Lukawski 09.11.2013 | I, for one, prefer brands that sound Iike legal firms. |
Alphonso Deitchman 09.11.2013 | You could start by saying why you believe Allen and Heath is superior. |
