Faustino Stringfellow 14.08.2011 | 2 cheap second hand DIRECT DRIVE turntables, Citronic, BST, Gemini, Akiyama etc. look in your local papers, tons of people sell them when they either upgrade or quit. A 2 channel mixer, it doesn't have to be the top line, good enough to monitor your practice sessions. 2 copies of the same record - for beat matching 101. Beatmatching on a digital solution is "push sync", not much to learn, however the art of riding faders, gently holding the spindle to give a little drag, etc. HAVE to learned on TT's ...CDJ platters don't have spindles etc. You DO NOT HAVE TO BUY TECHNICS 12's, not yet anyway ... try on something cheap to see if it's your thing, then if not put them back on craigs list or eBay. I had a look on my local vesion of craigs list and found a setup in Barcelona (obviously no use to you) for |

Myrtle Billegas 13.08.2011 | this thread suddenly became kinda funny tbh first of, VDJ LE can only be used with the intended controller. If you get a Mixtrack with VDJ LE for example, you can not use it with another controller. Think of VDJ LE like ITCH, it totally does everything labeled on the controller. It works just as intended, plug and play Secondly, lol @ VDJ is rubbish! Seriously?!? It can do just so much more than every other program on the market, won several Awards for best DJ software last year and supports just about everything on the market. If you have VDJ PRO FULL. If you have VDJ LE, which you basically get for free, you can only do what the controller is supposed to. Simple as that. If you have VDJ PRO, you can do just whatever you want Maybe you should have given your LE |

Cristi Sucha 14.08.2011 | Haha. That's fine JSM, I got a message from Silvio that the promotion is still on. I am curious to how you believe TT's and a mixer are a cheap solution to learn to beatmatch though. I would love to hear about this because I still haven't officially purchased an SC2000 yet so my options are still open. |
Faustino Stringfellow 14.08.2011 | Shame the VDJ fanboy can't read. I said the LE vesion is rubbish and will want to upgrade in a week. Traktor LE is practically the same, extrememly reduced workflow, minimal effects, a full version of any software is needed. There's Deckadance, Mixmeister, Miss Pinky, i don't even remember half of the ones i've tried, they can be used without restrictions and can help perfect button mashing. However if the user really wants to learn to mix / beatmatch, there's still is no better way than two pieces of the same vinyl, two turntables and a 2 channel mixer and several hours of practice, the digital solution can't teach this, it can however teach button pushing. If you want a "cheap" solution, then it's two turntables and a mixer time, going digital required a lot of money to get things right for me, if compromise your buying, you will most likely compromise your sets. and to the guy who wants the LE disk, I found the sleeves, and they are both from the seriously badly thoughtout VMS4 (don't ask me about it, it was a huge mistake). I never had the Denon LE version as I live in Europe and we wern't allowed to have that. So, unfortunatly its not going to help you. now to the drunk DJ .... drunk at a gig, very professional. Drunk whilst posting ... how responsible ..... now go to bed and sleep it off. |
Delmar Swamy 13.08.2011 | VDJ is a pretty handy. I used it for my first year of DJing befre moving to Traktor(mF took me there) If all I had left was my VDJ, i'd pimp it XD |
Cristi Sucha 13.08.2011 | Haha. Thanks for sticking up to the VDJ software. It has plenty of faithful users out there. Software is different for everyone. You find one that fits your style. Some prefer Traktor over VDJ and some are die hard VDJ users. It's what you like using. So there is no wrong answer here. |

Homer Selgado 13.08.2011 | You know what would be even cooler than this? The firmware that has been promised on a dozen different dates, and never delivered. I wish I could pull that where I work. Me : "Yeah, I'll have that report ready in a week" *six months goes by* Boss : "Hey, wheres that report man?" Me : "Yeah, its going to be ready at the end of this month" *two more months goes by* Boss : "Are you ever going to get that report out? Or do I have to hire someone that can?" /STATEMENT DELETED Me : "It is against company policy to ask question that I don't feel like answering. It will be out in 10 days" *10 days go by* And we are supposed to be happy about bundled Traktor LE... I mean, DENON seems to be actively advertising this little piece of gear all over the place, why don't you spend HALF those resources fixing its issues? I see new marketing material for the sc-2000 almost every month, and I cant say anything displeases me more. |
Faustino Stringfellow 13.08.2011 | found one CD, unfortunately i can't find the sleeve with the activation number ... but i haven't given up yet ... i'm recording this weekend so i'm going to be able to look for you. |

Faustino Stringfellow 12.08.2011 | I understand it finished many months ago. Virtual DJ LE is pants anyway, you've end up upgrading or crossgrading in under a week. Seriously if this is a deal breaker for you, believe again, the kit is what you are buying, they are throwing in an old and useless bit of software as a sweetener ... I believe i have a couple of unopened copies of VDJ LE, and even a copy of their FREE VDJ software ... all pointless. Hook it up to traktor (the software it was designed to use) and then you will see how good they are. |
Cristi Sucha 12.08.2011 | Is the promotion for the free VDJ LE with the purchase of a Denon SC2000 still running? I realize it says on the Denon website but it says nothing on the Authorized dealer about it being shipped with the unit. How would I receive the copy of VDJ LE? Does it all go through Denon? I really would like it to be still going because it is the deciding factor on me purchasing the product. I am aiming to get this controller and one of the reasons is the VDJ LE. Thanks! |
Maisie Marras 12.12.2010 | i dont get it. why is giving DEMO software away FREE such a big deal? well, i suppose LE is a step up from a demo....but still.... |
Janyce Henningson 12.12.2010 | Mmmmm spam fritters |
Graham Frazier 12.12.2010 | Ok, so maybe its not quite spam. And Silvio, i have nothing but respect for you. You help a lot of people on here. Sorry for my previous statement. |

Faustino Stringfellow 12.12.2010 | SPAM in ther UK is actually a brand of processed meat, this controller is nothing like that, i love them (got two) ... but VDJ is pointless ... i suppose they have to give the program away as no one would actually buy it when they see what traktor and a good mapping can do ... I got mine for |
