i believe the whole point of this is that it's only midi. people here have often been said they'd go for a decent midi only controller.

shame they didn't announce before the K2 i guess - or even more people would have been excited. i'd have thiought a 4 channel version would be way more popular than a 2 channel one tho.

the photos make it look like it's going to be quite expensive - nice finish etc - but surely a 2 channel version has to be cheaper than the 4 channel K2? if not then the only thing u gain is a more traditional dj style layout and the xfader - as someone else already said.

Yeah but, APC are there since more than 1 week, so they're obsolete & old style

why not just map an APC 40 to Traktor? waaay more controls available. sure, it's bigger and requires external power, but it terms of control, it is massively more flexible and offers much more, especially with the ability to plug in footswitches, AND, i'm willing to bet it would be cheaper than this thingamajigger

There is no such thing as a K2 killer, all hail the K2 and kneel before it's power

I agree with it being a MFP with a more standard form factor, still nice.

4 channel version..?
You sure you saw that? I didnt see a 4channel anywhere.
I believe people mentioned a 4 channel and now everyone assumes.

I believe there is a four channel version with two more line faders and two more columns of 4 knobs. nothing is released yet. I'm trying to find the pictures I was looking at. Ill check my history when I get home and post them

agreed - looks like a better version of a midifighter pro. i'd probably be more excited about this controller if the K2 wasn't just over the horizon... does look very nice tho.

I'd still save up for a DB2 anytime, if selling the S4.

Obviously not with timecode so kinda makes the scratch-ability redundant but still a sweet setup.

I bet theres room in there for an Audio 4... i know a guy that would love a bash at that.
You might be on to something there

Yeah, but there's something to be said about having a nice big mixer with plenty of space to work.

While I do like the K2 and believe it will do well, I believe it's too small to work as your main "mixer".

You've got a point there, I guess there can be a benefit to internal mixing.

I guess, unless it is priced really well it just seems like at that point you might as well consider other options for 4 channel control since you would still have to route it through a sound card and possibly also a mixer depending on the circumstances. Seems like a lot of gear, money, and cables when it could be simplified.

I see how this has a market for 2 channel scratch setup but for 4 channel I would be looking at a VCI-400 which has a similar button grid layout and more. Or just a mixer and your choice of button grid midi controller.

So from what we've seen from this, unless there's some major details we're missing still, I expect my prices to be close (+/- $50).
I dunno... In
