Novation Launchpad
Novation Launchpad Posted on: 16.12.2011 by Lashonda Pacatte I've been looking into a bunch of different production software and decided to go with ableton live. I ordered the launchpad because it is fairly inexpensive and seems to be a good integrated controller for ableton. My question is what other controllers would you guys recommend that work well with the launchpad for someone who is fairly new to edm production/djing? I've been looking at the korg nanokontrol and similar effects controllers but thought I would see what people on here have as recommendations.. Thanks for any suggestions! | |

| Patrica Giancaterino 17.12.2011 | If you're just trying to get your hands on some knobs and faders for cheap then go with the nanokontrol. However, you'll probably want a midi keyboard for your production, and a lot of them have knobs and faders built in so you might want to kill 2 birds with 1 stone. The novation sl 25 is basically the zero plus keys - a crossfader and looks awesome, but I've never used one and it looks costly. You should check craigslist, there are tons of cheap deals on second hand keyboards there. |
| Chasidy Heckenbach 17.12.2011 | actually i believe a nanokontrol makes a great controller paired up with a launchpad, esp for the money. it's not in the same league as the zero but also not the same price bracket and adds some very useful controls. i've had my nanokontrol mk1 for a long time now, no problems at all. |
