Hey guys, so for all the Novation Twitch owners out there who are believeing about modding their Twitch's with the new DJTT knobs and faders, how do you believe they will fit?

I was looking into getting some to mod out my Twitch, but I'm worried about how well the knobs will fit?

On the DJTT store page it says "Knobs sit high on controller"

So does that mean it wouldn't be a good fit, or maybe it wouldn't look or feel too good? I don't want to spend $$$ and then it doesn't look or feel good.

So what do you believe? Yes or No?

Whew, got it. After ruining a knob or two by applying too much pressure, and after breaking out the mallet and X-Acto knives, I finally found the right sized jeweler's screwdriver. For me, it was pressure to the side of the stopper, followed by a twisting/rotating around the stopper similar to a slow hand-drill. After I finally figured out what worked for me, it was relatively quick and easy.
Hey Xylo,

I am new to this community and I tried your approach of removing the stopper from the DJTT knob for my novation twitch. I have broken 2 knobs and drilled one knob right up to the top but it still fits high on my twitch. Can you help?

hey guys i'm new to the community ! I joined because of a problem i have with my twitch knobs. After using it for two weeks i noticed that my high eq knob stands just a tad higher than the other knobs. ive applied semi pressure to take it off but nothing happens. and it would have been practicly imposible for me to have caused the knob to be lifted in the first place. how would i go about alining it up with the other knobs?

Thanks Xylo & Sinfm... I've been searching for good quality replacement knobs after trying out some of the old DJTT ones I'd bought for my Hercules RMX: they fit OK but feel cheap.

WARNING TO ANYONE REPLACING THE NOVATION TWITCH KNOBS:

The Twitch knobs were a evening mare to remove (at least on my model). No amount of teasing with my fingers or using an old cloth to add traction helped. Eventually I had to resort to padding out the jaws of a pair of pliers to gently tease off the old knobs. This worked for all but two of them: when I slowly pulled them off, the metal D-shafts inside the knobs themselves also came out from inside the potentiometers. DAMN! Warranty gone and a brand new 300-squid Twitch potentially down the pan. These were an absolute devil to put back in - the 'end stops' on one knob have broken so it now acts like an endless encoder.

What to do? I've managed to find a local electronics wizard (certified out-of-warranty Allen & Heath repairs) who can hopefully replace the broken potentiometers...

So, listen up, don't f**k up like I did folks - BE ULTRA CAREFUL WHEN TAKING OFF THE KNOBS... Or just leave them there if they won't come off by hand. Lesson learned!

Fits fine. I use the overlay (but not with Traktor, I've relabeled the overlay for use with Ableton) and the knobs and caps do not need to be removed when putting on and taking off the overlay.

Guys I have seen a picture of the Twitch with the Traktor overlay on it.. It looks kinda thick and the standard knobs seem to sit deeper in there.. Has anyone tried the Chroma Caps over the Traktor overlay? Do they fit more flush to the face of the controller with it?

Also your method of removing the plastic inside, is this to fit the rubber over the existing knob? or do you remove the standard knobs and then put these DJTT knobs on with the plastic removed?

The fader caps are pretty useless on the Twitch. There's too much play and they are VERY easy to accidentally tilt on the post which then makes the base of the caps drag on the faceplate of the Twitch.

Hey, they just come off, be careful and try to apply even leverage to avoid bending the metal.......

Since im modding it I thought id give it some color, im not 100% sure about the camo yet and i still need to add labels......

Hey guys, just got new knobs for my Twitch.....here is the link

http://www.tme.eu/en/details/gw15b/s...sistors-knobs/

These feel GREAT, they are slightly wider than the originals and fit flush, definately not as cool as DJTTs of course but they are a straight fit, no modding needed.

Also added some padding on the faders for a better feel.....Has anyone changed the volume faders with better ones??? Link would be very appreciated......

The fat knobs are too big imo - ur thumbs will easily bang into any knob next to it if twisting it fast.. if anything, do a thin djtt knob there - they are still alot chunkier than the novation stock knobs.

but remember, any knob on the twitch that isnt an encoder style thin knob (like the effects mod on the stock mapping) is going to "sit high". It does make them alot smoother than the stock knobs tho - just looks weird.

And also, twitch is pretty tight on real estate.. if you place 2 djtt thin knobs right next to each other, it could be a LITTLE bit tight. You may want to do always leave a novation stock knob in between djtt knobs (if that makes sense). I dunno.. I wouldnt really replace any of the knobs.. It will take some planning to make sure your not hitting knobs due to tight space and then you'll have some stock short knobs + some djtt "sit high" knobs sitting in different places..

Okay that makes me feel better. I was doing a gig and I turned around and the force from my jacket zipper hitting the fader moved it from deck A to deck B -_-

Djtt are slightly tighter (good balance of loose / tight imo). Stock faders were way too loose for my tastes.

No longer get the feel that u may crack the fader off when slamming them around like with the stock fader caps.

The twitch faders are def worth replacing with djtt caps.
Hannelore Maanum

Do the fader knobs make the faders tighter or more smooth? In my opinion the original faders on the twitch are a bit too loose and flimsy.
Cliff Lohman

Ya.. I replaced one pf the fat knobs on my x1..

I didnt try any of the fat knobs on the twitch tho.. I use itch with the twitch so no filter knob.. I assume u use traktor? Anyways lemme know which knob and ill try it on.. It probably fits the same way but twitchs knobs are generally tight spaced so it may just be a room issue..

I believe the faders look good, so I'll probably be getting some for the Twitch, but thats it I believe.

I do agree with you, the knobs on the Twitch are not the best compared to other controllers, but they will have to do hey.

In the meantime I'll be placing my order for some knobs for my X1.

Thanks again!
no prob.. if theres any controller that needed an emergency knob replacement, its this one Shame the knobs dont fit flush for all of the knobs because the twitch would be freakin awesome with these knobs.

Anybody out there know of a workaround for these "sit high" knobs?

I may wind up trying out the eq knob replacement too and give it a mess around to see if theres much improvement.. i have a strong dislike for the twitch knobs as you can probably tell lol so maybe the "sit high" thing is better than the current knobs..

But ya.. def go for the faders.. and quite franctly, you should pick up at least 2 knobs to test em out since shipping is pretty much the same price whether you buy 2 or 20 knobs so worth having a test set laying around imo for $4.
