WIll a Kontrol X1, F1, and Audio 2 serve the needs of a controller? Posted on: 04.04.2013 by Jada Greenhagen II am a newbie, yet, was doing some research for a somewhat portable setup. Thus, was wondering if I didn't need scratch capability, will the X1/F1/Audio 2 do the job? Your inputs would be appreciated! Thanks! | |

By default, the Contour mapping is set to control deck volume with the jog wheel when none of the 4 "jog modes" are selected, but I removed that straight away as I mix externally. Personally I have mine mapped so that it's a normal jogwheel (touch-sensitive scratch + pitchbend on the outside) when no specific mode is enabled, Flux in "Scratch" mode, then pitchbend-only in "Pitchbend" mode, with shift+pitchbend as a tempo fader, then track position (rapid seek) in "Search" mode, then a deck browser in "Trax" mode. |

Alphonso Deitchman 21.04.2013 | Focusrite have a range of production-oriented cards that are reasonably priced. |

Jada Greenhagen 06.04.2013 | Thanks scooterADAM! |
Maile Dekerlegand 05.04.2013 | sc2000 has a nice pitch fader, great for beatmatching as well as being built like a tank a negative is that its push encoders are all notched which you may not like using for some functions |
Jada Greenhagen 04.04.2013 | Thanks for the inputs! |
Jeffrey Akinsanya 04.04.2013 | another alternative more traditional look (with the addition on a pitch slider) is the Denon DN-SC2000 (no audio) |

Jada Greenhagen 04.04.2013 | mdcdesign - I do like the fact that the Contour has add'l functionality (esp the integrated audio sc and the jog wheel). How do you control the ch fader & cross-fader effect with the unit? (reading through another site it appeared to be somewhat convoluted) Your thoughts? Thanks! |

Dedra Kreinbring 05.04.2013 | There in an official K2 thread on here I believe, read on there that the sound card is pretty quiet. Also F1 and X1 look great together. To be honest I have no experience of K2 though |
Jada Greenhagen 05.04.2013 | Thanks Big Panda & dj gullum, your inputs are appreciated! I already own an F1, so my plan was to add the X1 & A2. dj gullum - did a little googling on the A&H K2 and saw some of the differences/options...though I prefer inputs directly from the users like you. Can either of you provide additional user inputs on the A&H K2 or point me to some reference mtl's? I'll keep searching around. Again, thanks! |
Ashanti Andreacchio 04.04.2013 | Yes it will do the job just fine you could even go for an X1/ A&H K2 and have almost the same options. though could not controll the Remix decks. |
Dedra Kreinbring 04.04.2013 | If you just wanna use your laptop and X1/F1/A2 combo then that should be a nice portable set up. Just make sure you have enough usb slots. |
