TTM 57SL vs. Z2 I currently own a ttm 57SL. I am very comfortable with serato. but all my other gear seems to be going towards the native instruments direction, so I'm believeing of switching to traktor altogether, so swapping the rane for the z2.
any thoughts? yeh, or nay??!! |

Do you already have Traktor Scratch Pro 2? |

I honestly was not too impressed with the faders on the T1 for whatever reason...I don't know what it was. |

I'm serious here how can a mixer with so little to offer (except when running software ) be placed so high above others which are clearly better least in my humble opinion.

Ditto. And I'm a Traktor user but I just don't get how one would prefer a Z2 to a TTM-57. It's true the buttons and squizzle stick on the 57 are useless without software (and annoying to use even when you're using serato), but just as a straight up mixer and piece of hardware, the 57 is head and shoulders beyond the Z. |

Johnie Ranges 29.04.2013 | Don't get me wrong, the 57 is amazing and serato i solid, has not done me wrong in many years. the 57 I believe is an incredible mixer.
BUT
I am a simple guy. I tried TRAKTOR for the first time recently and fell in love with it, and it just made sense to go in this direction(ie my other gear
is NI and it syncs nicely). As for mixers, I, myself, am happy as long as the crossfaders are butter(I scratch, and this is where I've always been at). So other than that the z2 is pretty straightforward, effects call buttons, where the 57 is a little more complicated using effects and such, I'm not saying its hard, just a little more work involved.
so for me, simple is good. I like the z2, because I get traktor now, syncs to my maschine real nice, and I like the fader and setup. Again, just my opinion. |
Ervin Calvery 29.04.2013 | The Z2 comes with Scratch Pro. |

Ervin Calvery 27.04.2013 | You won't regret the Z2. it's a lot of fun! |
Johnie Ranges 27.04.2013 | yeah, i'm doing it, I have my 57 on the market......I am really trying to wait, but I believe I'm going to end up buying the z2 before I sell the 57, gettin' restless. |
Larue Ostmeyer 27.04.2013 | Do it. Z2 can be mapped to do anything you're doing in Serato and you can plug in an SL1-4 box to keep using SSL. I converted well before the Z2 but I never use serato these days. I keep my SL3 box just incase I'm playing with someone else who does |
