Okay... So I need help picking a DJ name. Stuck between DJ Kyle Hughes and DJ Kyle H. Also looking for any other suggestions. I know this might get asked a lot, but all i'm asking for is your humble opinion. Thank you !

Best Regards,

People want to call themselves DJs yet seem hell bent on short cutting every aspect of the process from picking names, to finding music to getting gigs "quickly". This results in someone with a contrived name showing up to entertain a crowd with music they dont know and an audience they are unprepared for. Is that good for anyone? People believe SYNC is the problem when in actuality these are the real problems.

I vote for Kyle Hughes.

Kues is pretty fresh.

You also go with (DJ) Huge K, so if DJing doesn't work there 's always the adult movie industry.

And if you want a prefix use "Sir" not "DJ" it is IMO as previously sated absolutely "WANK"

My buddy has been trying to come up with a DJ name, and is set on having DJ in front of it. I told him, if you are behind the decks, EVERYONE knows you are a DJ. He's spent more time trying to come up with a name than playing on his new cd players. Forget the name, you could have the most epic name but if you can't mix, you aint shit.

Perhaps it's an age thing but to me, using the prefix DJ .... Or MC ... is just pretentious bo**ocks.

Just my opinion

+1 on this thread. Havent seen this in a while

What about forgetting the play on your name? Open the ideas up to any name that has a ring to it. Joel Zimmerman does not have a 5 in his name. Or just go by KyLE.

Well, this thread has gone to shit. Might as well rant.

I'm having an "old man mad at youth" moment! I'm 28--not nearly old enough to be having these moments!

Posts like these are making me SMMFH lately.

"What name should I go by?" "What gear should I buy?" "What music should I play?" "Where should I get my music?" "How do I DJ?" "Tell me how to be so I don't have to figure it out for myself."

Remember when we didn't have resources like DJTT Forums and we got a kick out of figuring shit out on our own?

EDIT: sorry, Kyle. I'm a hammered drunk sweaty mess that just got back from the bar. Carry on.

In the pub:
Mate "DJ Karl Yates would you like a drink"
Me "Yes"
Mate "what would you like DJ Karl Yates"
Me "lager you prick"
Mate "Ok DJ Karl Yates"

Mate "here DJ Karl Yates, heres your lager"
Me "why dont you kill yourself"
Mate "oh DJ Karl Yates thats not very nice. Hey everybody did you hear what DJ Karl Yates just said to me"
