As your all saying about the club scene, I thought it was just Lisburn! Weve only got ONE bar that has a DJ in it and were meant to be a city... their getting rid of all bars in the area to turn it into a shopping city... fs

Im only 17 though so my view of club life is limited but from my brother only stiff kitten and mono play edm, the rest play top 40...

Are there any big evening s in Galway these days?

We're heading out to Connemara for a week of peace & quiet later in september, but might be up for a evening out at the weekend.

Just remembered,

Dave de valera is running a good house evening (PODium) in POD on saturdays. (Not sure if it's every week)

There is also trainwreck on saturdays. (Every saturday PODium isn't on).

There's also transmission (Button factory or Downstairs in the twisted pepper)
Not entirely sure when it's on.

Other than that i can't believe of anything else on.

Im 19 and i absolutly hate going out. Every single club in Cork is the same. Chart, some 90's and a bit of hip hop thats it in EVERY single club. Personally i have Djed in city clubs and dont like it very much. Actualy i hate it. I prefer doing weddings getting paid and getting home with no politics involved (Doing one toevening )

they allow in the door and if its not top 40 its got no chance of a friday or saturday evening , might scrape a thursday or a tuesday in the summer but during uni term time these are also strictly top40 evening s, ireland needs to break out of the narrow minded culture, hopefully your generation can succeed where the current one failed.

I'm 29 and most club bar owners i know only want to play it safe with their music policy, yet they whine that pubs/clubs arent busy.
And i taught it was just Cork.

just moved to IRL myself, Athlone (fabulous place). Can anyone on here recommend any good housey club evening s nearby? perhaps Galway? Prefer the cosier venues than the big cheesey dance evening s etc.

Just found this thread thanks to a link from photojojo . Forgot about it and would of been handy a few weeks back, played at the twisted pepper for charity so would have been nice to get more people in there that appreciate good tunes, plus if your looking to do a non top 40 evening thats the place to go, a void sound system and pretty good setup (cdj1000s djm800 tech1200) plus they like controlers: nero, benga, skream and others to name a few have played in the last year

to be fair there are some good evening s outside of the top40 world, but it is fairly hard to break into the scene id say
