At the airport now headed to Arizona for a wedding and a very long weekend. Any suggestions on what to check out while there?

Sedona is fantastic!

Sorry I didn't make it out at all, this weekend was hell - I was put on carpet cleaning duty. The joys of adulthood.

Hope you had fun in AZ - the weather sure was nice. Hope the wedding went well!

Headed up to Sedona for the day. I'll post pics when I get home. I left the cord for my Nikon in Virginia.

I'm way in the boonies, like NW Phoenix, way up by Lake Pleasant.

I will see what I can do though. However, I went out with the Significant Other at lunch and was told we weren't allowed to go anywhere for the next month because we have a lot of housework to do and need to prepare for our Cinco de Mayo party. Blah, blah, blah...we'll see about that! Haha.

I'll post up here if I get to venture out at all.

I believe we are going to Zips near Camelback/Miller to watch some hockey later. How far away do you live Ed? You should come watch some hockey and have some pints.

I was there for Xmas and heard some great local DJs in Scottsdale at Axis Radius.

Sorry for not getting back to you yesterday...

Talked to my buddy at work. He said some cool places to go for bars with music were BarSmith which has house music upstairs and 90's hip hop downstairs. The Crescent Ballroom was his other suggestion and they spin indie house.

As for other cool day time stuff that's not touristy...that's a hard question. Other than shopping and eating there isn't too much to do.

I'm working today until 5, but don't really have any plans this weekend other than cleaning the house. They're breaking ground on the poolside bar today, so our backyard is going to quickly turn into a mess.

Also Ed, what's good for guys who don't like touristy crap. Already hiked Camelback and checked out Hole in the Rock.

I'm in Paradise Valley but it's all basically the same to me. North Scottsdale off McDowell. Heading to Yotes game toevening . Actually headed to Zips in West Valley now to watch the Caps game. Doing a wedding on Saturday but we are here until Monday afternoon.

Let me know your schedule Ed.

ALSO, IF YOU DRINK, DON'T DRIVE!!!

This state has crazy DUI laws and they'll throw you in jail for a month if you have mouthwash on your breath.

How long are you here and what are your interests? Also, where will you be located, Scottsdale, Downtown PHX, North PHX, West Side, East Side, Tucson, Sedona, Flagstaff?

Preseason baseball is everywhere in the valley right now and is fairly cheap.

I live in the burbs of PHX and don't get out much, so I can't recommend too many clubs to check out.

I like Hanny's downtown near US Airways Center for predrinks or for a relaxing evening. Great cocktails and some nice downtempo/chill tunes in the background.
Rips is a total dive bar, but the evening I went there was great - dj spinning everything, from the 60's to now, techno, indie, rock, pop...

I can get a list of cool clubs and whatnot from my friend that lives downtown, if you'd like. As I said, I hardly ever go out - party is always at my house!
