What Music to you listen to besides dance music? Posted on: 22.06.2012 by Werner Bile Title is pretty self explanatory. What do you listen to when you're not listening to what you spin?Personally, I'm fairly well obsessed with Joy Division and the Smiths. I don't spin vinyl anymore, but I do have a record collection that consists largely of British Post-Punk music from the early/mid 80s. so how about everyone else? | |

Cristian Carmona 26.06.2012 | Smiths & Joy Division, nice. I'm a huge on the UK post punk and 80s synth stuff. I used to spin that here and there. Love the indie rock a'la Post Punk revival, Rock En Espa |

Emely Metz 20.07.2012 | 70s/80s/90s and some sid-metal |
Leeanna Ayla 11.07.2012 | I rode 1090 miles in 17 hours a few months ago and had the iPod on Shuffle. Later when I plugged it in last.fm scrobbled it and this is what I listened to that day. I specifically don't have any EDM on the iPod for these long rides. http://www.last.fm/user/photojojo/li...s/67opj_ss1000 |
Brinda Tidrick 11.07.2012 | Love a bit of hardcore and punk. Going to see Refused in a couple of week in London, UK. Can't bloody wait! It's gonna be epiiiiiiiiiiiiic! |
Loyce Mekonen 03.07.2012 | I really like post hardcore, bands like thrice, alexisonfire, circa survive and the sort. Although I've rarely listen to them as of late I enjoy them a lot when I do. I also like bands such as Coheed & Cambria, punk bands like NOFX, The Offspring, etc. Really enjoy some post rock as well. Gotta love aussie hip hop too such as Funkoars, Hilltop Hoods, Bliss n Eso and the sort. I'm pretty much very open minded when it comes to music. Used to love bands like Dream Theater, Porcupine Tree, Pain of Salvation, Spock's Beard, Transatlantic and all that progressive'ish stuff. Love me sum good jazz and blues as well. |
Hye Sportel 03.07.2012 | Near enough everything, though hardcore/metal is what I listen to and love the most. |
Ervin Calvery 02.07.2012 | Peter Evans http://tinyurl.com/peterevansarticulation |
Alfred Takala 02.07.2012 | I know alot of people may disagree but I really like Drake I believe Feist and The Arcade Fire are pretty good too. Also The Weeknd...only has mixtapes but the production quality is great and their free...he is vocally amazing. Idk if this counts but I believe SBTRKT is pretty cool too. Ohh and Miike Snow is definetly my favorite band...amazing composition/songwriting and great live performance! |
Leeanna Ayla 01.07.2012 | My iTunes library is pretty full of pretty much every kind of music you can imagine except modern country and pop. |
Latoria Kavulich 30.06.2012 | i like both types of music: country AND western |

Rolanda Clodfelder 26.06.2012 | I fail to understand the question ... theres other music ? Kidding - mainly chilled stuff like floyd, Beatles, sarah mclachlan, delirium, primal scream and of course some old school disco too (mainly to get inspiration for loops). |

Danae Dumler 26.06.2012 | that record looks awesome! I love and collect just about every kind of music I can get my hands on. Lately been really getting into old Delta blues as well as current bands that use that sound (like Eden and John's East River String Band from Bklyn), and I really love the Dixieland/jazz/blues sound that so many artists in New Orleans continue to build on and update. I also dig old country (particularly compilations of weird obscure stuff like The World is a Monster) and jazz. I love old punk rock but I don't listen to it that often. I don't really know shit about black metal and stuff like that but I used to be a huge heavy metal fan back when metal meant Black Sabbath, Blue Oyster Cult and the like. And I love any kind of rock n roll from the 1950s onward, particularly the more obscure stuff, but I don't follow enough of what's happening nowadays to know most of the bands that people are into. Same with hip hop, I've been a huge fan since Sugarhill Gang (literally; I knew every word back in 1981 or whenever it was) and I have a badass collection of hip hop on vinyl from the mid-80s to the mid-90s but if not for snacksandshit.com I wouldn't know Wacka Flacka from Tech N8ne or whatever. But I guess that counts as "dance music" so I won't get into my passion for old funk and disco .... |
Werner Bile 24.06.2012 | My girlfriend picked this up for me at the flea market today: JWalker.jpg |
Reda Holdsworth 24.06.2012 | I'm a big widespread panic fan. |
Tesha Freudenstein 23.06.2012 | anything i like. can be rock, metal, hip-hop, RnB you name it. |

Jona Slon 23.06.2012 | I have a lot of jimmi Hendrix, john Mayer, Stevie ray Vaughan, slash, Metallica, odd future, the game, tupac, nwa |
Elinor Happer 23.06.2012 | Anything really.. My iTunes is like an archive, I don't like saying I like a specific genre of music, it's too square.. It's all a matter of mood - Lately been listening mainly to Folk\Blues, classics like Dylan and Neil Young along modern stuff like Tallest Man on Earth (amazing!) and Fleet Foxes |
Celestine Porebski 23.06.2012 | Well, I rarely listen to stuff other than modern dance music anymore, but if I do it's probably: Hiphop (well, mainly the stuff until about 95, preferably of the western gangsta variety) Funk (oh how I love thee, George Clinton) (Italo-)Disco (well, technically speaking that's dance music, right?) Jazz some (classic) rock (but very rarely, not a rock kind of guy in general, but Hendrix is cool for example) |
Jonathan Chiuchiolo 23.06.2012 | I only listen to two other types of music "Country" & "Western"... not really lol... I like bitsa everything - 70's rock, hip hop from mid 90's to mid 2000, triphop, sublime "they get their own catagory", New Zealand dub... Really anything but death metal |
Matt Kane 23.06.2012 | hardcore, metal, death/black metal, indie, crust etc. this is my roots. |
Lina Rawie 22.06.2012 | I like a bit of everything, but this is what I mostly listen to: - Hip-hop (old school and golden age) Electro (old school stuff, not electro house) R&B and soul Progressive and instrumental rock/acoustic 80s pop |
Demarcus Kottemann 22.06.2012 | I have always been a classic rock fan. AC/DC, KISS, Zeplin the list goes on. |
Era Roka 22.06.2012 | Some old-school stuf but mainly root's, rock and reggae. Xavier Rudd, Jack Johnson, Mishka stuff like that. |
Palma Hanslip 22.06.2012 | When i'm not listening to EDM I mostly listen to Simple Minds, OMD, Prince, Run D.M.C.. Basically, 80's New Wave/Romantic, Some old school hip-hop and some 80's punk-ish stuff. |
Werner Bile 22.06.2012 |
Saw this group open for Interpol and became an immediate fan. Very Joy Division/Bauhaus/Danse Society influenced. |
Lashawn Maycock 22.06.2012 | Lots of different stuff really, in fact during the day I don't listen to much dance music. I love these guys who are local and being doing the rounds for years and always at Glastonbury somewhere! http://open.spotify.com/artist/5EWgOiRmZxdcCQOHyJQmUq http://www.thehuckleberries.com/FlashHuxWeb2/main.html |
