I too would agree, but she makes a lot of the decisions and it was her decision to try and be a part time DJ. I'd bet my bottom dollar on it, she said "yes" herself to the decision. That was a stupid mistake to begin with, which no good advice could help at all, ever. The best advice would have been, she should just simply stay away from DJing, because she will never be good at it, because she will never dedicate herself or the time it takes to be a real professional DJ. She is only hurting herself and even worse, making a mockery of the DJ profession. The only really big difference is, she has a name already, which carries weight to build a "stupid" crowd, unfortunately. The lady is practically talentless, other than being able to create gossip about herself, which this DJ sideline is another part of. Crappy PR, for a crappy personality, who is actually smart enough to take advantage of the stupid people in this world, which there are millions of, unfortunately.

If they advised her to start slow and do some gigs playing in the 2nd room of some up and coming clubs etc and got her to do a load of practice she could have built up a following and gotten a reasonable rep.

But no, the bad advice she has had indicates that team Paris believes it's all about celebrity and skills don't matter. Wrong on soooooooo many levels. "Hey Paris, your amazing you can be a superstar DJ next week" It's bollocks, and the poor deluded arseholes that pretend to be friends of celebrities really should be rounded up and dealt with (humanely)

Hangers-on - never a good situation for the person at the centre of it all. The public will only swallow so much of the wind & piss that these people spout. Someone needs to give the woman some decent honest advice.
If I divorce myself from my knee-jerk revulsion of her personally, I can pretty much agree with everything you just said.

Agreed. As terrible of a DJ we can all agree Paris is, I at the very least will give her enough credit to assume she wouldn't let it clip that horribly.

Interesting that she didn't play nor aknlowedge any goa/psytrance. If I played in a place that defined a genre, I would do my best to fit some kind of homage to it in there.

Hey look on the bright side, it could have been worse, she could do what a lot of Dj's do these days, and play all her own stuff!

thing is its not like she has a day job, so she's got the time to put in, she's got the money for top end gear amd connections to get decent djs to give her lessons etc, so if she really wanted to be an actual DJ because she had a love for the music as someone said earlier she could have started small and actually got good, the fact she'splaying shows like this playing fecking gangnam style etc suggests to me its just about jumping on the next band wagon, telly done, cheesey r n b pop songs done, ooh this ere 'EDM' (sorry hate that btw) is pretty big, fuck it get me some decks and a dj boyfriend, hey i'm a superstar dj! JOKE!

I'd have to agree.

The guy backstage actually DJ'ing for her surely would have the common sense to keep tabs on the levels.

I lose soo much respect for anyone who takes her even slightly seriously. She probably couldn't even point out India on a map. Any mix that plays Gangnam Style is an automatic FAIL. What irks me even more is this is on her website, which tells me her team is actually PROUD of that video.

I would literally cut my nuts off , drop them into a jar full of barbed wire, salt , and hot tar too play at that gig , and she get's to because of daddy's money

This is one of those things that makes me want to believe the world will end on the 21st of December.

Not a fan by any means but this seems like the most amount of actual work shes ever done with her various ventures.. Of course, its sad to see that fame alone can get u in front of an audience faster than all the great local djs.. It cant be easy for her to put herself out there in front of big crowds like that so ill give her some degree of respect if she sticks with it and doesnt millli vanilli it.. Shes definitely got experience clubbing which is where id guess alot of us honed our music skills lol.. Im sure she doesnt need the cash that badly so im guesing shes got some real interest in music..

That said, i wont be attending any events based on her being on the dj roster anytime soon but i dont get why everybody hates on her for this in particular.. Shes by no means any worse than alot of the rock star style djs out there - she just happens to be an obvious target.. Shes not claiming to be a danny tenaglia or richie hawtin playing afterhours in sweaty basement clubs and i doubt this will sway the general state of edm any more than its been swayed the last few years.

wow, also funny is how many people have looked at this thread-thousands in just a few days.we all knew she would suck.hopefully some DJ she respects will pull her aside and just be 21 about shit and say "Paris, seriously i mean....really?....really?' and she will stop.the only good thing, and i mean 'ONLY' is that people hear the word DJ more and you see DJing more on TV because of it,like the saying goes-Even bad press is good press'-but yes,Paris Hilton should take up bullfighting or deep sea underwater spot welding or nascar.,yeah Nascar would be cool for her and provides a rush and theres a really good chance she will die.jeez

Ya know, I believe everyone has the wrong take on this. Who's to say that with a bit of practice Paris H couldn't be half decent? The way I see it is yes, she sucks at the moment but it's bad advice from 'her people' that is killing it for her.

She walks on stage as if everyone is there to see HER. Turns out they only came for the block rockin beats. And the flanger.

Any festival/evening that is willing to put her on isn't worth going to in my opinion. Regardless of the rest of the line up.

She may have had a CDJ/mixer setup on the table, but I'd be willing to hazard a guess if the mixing was any good... There was someone else DJ'ing backstage for her.

Horrible socialite tramp.
