vinyl collection picture thread
vinyl collection picture thread Posted on: 06.11.2012 by Corie Murtagh Hey all i searched for this type of thing all over the place on djtt before posting but couldn't find it. So let me know if there already is a thread about this and ill remove mine. Anyways, i love vinyl artwork. Real artwork and looking at other peoples collections. I always thought it gave you an easier way at finding some hidden gems. Plus the artwork is just fun to look at. i used to go to friends houses to look at theirs, or on here. Specifically the "post your latest purchase" thread. That always has some new music on it. but it always has people posting other stuff on there too of course. and i know people have a lot more records than this. Anyways... here is my collection, kinda small right now but looking to get more. and hey don't forget to post yours update 20121116 After seeing the way people are using this thread I have rephrased my request to better suit this thread and the people reading it. Post pictures of your record collection as a whole. But then post pictures of your favorite records that you love to listen to, over and over and over again new or old. Also if you have a collectors item or items, post that too. Post as many of your favorite records as you can. But don't post a picture of your collection just to say "hey check it out my collection is bigger than yours" and then not post any pictures of your favorite records. Also if your going to post a favorite record please include in the text as to what the title of the record it is. Just to make finding that hidden gem that much easier thanks guys This is my small collection so far. surprisingly still make good use of them in my sets. This is one of my favs just for the music by digable planets with there single, rebirth of slick (cool like dat). This record has some really good breaks if thats what you need. to break that is. The breaktionary volume 2 This one is my all time favorite hip hop single. i just can't get enough of it. The tribute by colossus heres all the records i have so far. | |

Nereida Jasnoch 28.11.2012 | Wow this thread is cool ! I wish I had more albums with cool artwork. My favorite one that I have: I really love it and seriously considered hanging it on the wall in a frame. |

Kamala Temple 28.11.2012 | Omg that is amazing! Coolest I've seen so far haha. How much did that run you? |
Lina Rawie 28.11.2012 | I just picked up this: - Picture disc inside: - |
Kamala Temple 19.11.2012 | Got it thanks. Here's my collection so far, http://www.discogs.com/collection?user=Burdturd - Nothing too special in there but as for my rarest it's definitely this... |
Salvatore Husley 19.11.2012 | It won't automatically add something to your collection just because you bought it through the site. You have to add it yourself. Simply find the version you own but finding it's page and hit the button on the right that says "add to collection". You can also add details like condition of the media and cover and rate the title based on a 1-5 scale. But you have to find the right page. A lot of records have several versions which each have their own page. It could be a repress or just a release meant for a certain country. Typically you can just ID the record by looking at the Record Label's catalog number. But sometimes that's not enough and you have to look at the etching in the center of the record. Just as an example look at this Moodymann release. http://www.discogs.com/Moodymann-Sha...ae/master/6107 There are 9 different versions. Hope that helps. |

Corie Murtagh 19.11.2012 | Just got a new record in. This one has a good wide variety of style. And it's not bassnectors usual kind of music. So kind of interesting |
Corie Murtagh 16.11.2012 | Wow this thread blew up! haha "vinyls". In my opinion you can call them whatever you want as long as it plays audio in that anologue lossless format that we all have come to know and love. People throw slang on every term out there especially in this industry. But the official term will always be "records". Call it what you want though. Maybe saying they are vinyls makes them sound more premium or something. but i don't care as long as they sound better than crappy lossy mp3's at 192 kbps. Anyways lets get back on topic guys. I should rephrase my request to better suit this thread. After seeing the way people are using this thread I have rephrased my request to better suit this thread and the people reading it. Salvatore Husley 16.11.2012 | Everyone just chill. lets get somewhat back on track. Anyone on Discogs? I just recently updated my profile with almost all my electronic music. I don't know if I will ever throw up my rock and hip hop collection. It's just so time consuming. http://www.discogs.com/user/shane_says I'll be posting my collection photo whenever i finish making my dj desk/stand. |

Come'on guys this is a community not a pissing contest, just enjoy everyone's collection and if you don't have anything positive to say don't say anything. |
Palma Hanslip 16.11.2012 | Ovcourse it's a collection! That's a much more n00bish thing to say than the guy that called vinyl 'vinyls'. It looks like there is around 300 records there at least? Maybe i'm completely wrong but i know people that only have 50 or so and find it an impressive collection for this day and age. |
