Stuck between the CDJ 900 or CDJ 2000/NEXUS
Posted on: 11.09.2012 by Antoinette Bradshaw
Hey guys.

Ive been recently diagnosed with Rapid New Equipment Purchasing disease

So now is my end all decision.

Im 17, and ive decided that it is time to end this pandemic!

I would like to know your opinions on the CDJ 900 vs the CDJ 2000 or 2000 Nexus.

I really want to get the 900, but im not sure if i will just trade it off in need of something more like the 2000's.

Is the 2000 really worth the 500 dollar upgrade?

Any help is greatly appreciated

I can't believe what Pioneer charge. They really are having a laugh.
There must be other manufacturers who do as good for less.

Technics started to milk it because they were the industry standard. I got a Citronic turntable and it is just as good as my old 1210 MKII's and in some ways better, and got it new for

i tried for a car, but my parents dont see the point in me spending a huge amount on insurance ($420 a Month), plus gas, and repairs/financing...and we have 3 vehicles... I wanted a car sooo bad!

It's the size of a lighter, and you can store loads of music in them. It's cool and very practical

EDIT : I FOUND IT ! It's called "USB Flash Drive" (i asked a specialist to i believe it's a good source)

2000s > 900s simply for the better waveforms, tension control and the much much MUCH nicer screen.

slip mode is nice and cool, but how often would you really use it?

Quick question: Does anyone have a price check on the 2000 Nexus? Down here the 2000's are $1979 without taxes

Hmm, so, im believeing the 2000's it is! I personally dont believe the extra 500 dollars for enhanced waves, and slip mode on the Nexus is not really worth it imo

Perosonally I wonder if pio could release a CDJ-2000 update to include the zoomed in waves, and needle drop loops.

I'm hesitating between 2k and 2k nexus, and I decided i'll "just" go for pair of 2k. A part of the decision is because of the Slip feature.

In your case, do you plan on using slip mode for scratching ? (meaning you don't know how to scratch but you want to act like if you knew) (no offense intended, i can't scratch for shit either and i'll never spend a second learning it, it's not of my taste)

If you plan to use the slip mode just for loops, it's useless since the DJM's "roll" effect does the exact same thing.

Just ask yourself if the money difference between 2k and 2k nexus is worth the extra features IN YOUR CASE. If it is, go ahead, if it's not just buy regular 2k's.
That's a reasoning that should help you decide. The only downside of this is the fact that, when you plan to spend a lot, few hundreds won't really make a difference.

DB4...

If you don't care about the cost. or have ample anyway. Why wouldn't you get the 2000 nexus, seems like you won't be satisfied until you do.

The screen, to me is the biggest selling point to the 2000, nexus or not.
