Pioneer DDJ-SP1?

Got this from a friend who works at an Pioneer Service Center. I'm guessing a single player controller.

What do you guys believe?

This is a screenshot from the tool they use to report problems with pioneer products.

each bank of 8 pads has a shift bank. press the hot cue button and you have 8 pads pressing Shift + hot cue give another 8 pads that 64 pads on each side so not that little

Would have been cool if it was an like an X1 and I could use this with just a DJM900 to DJ.
no need for TTs or CDJs honestly if you add a few extra buttons to this lol.

i believe the idea was that if you wanted to ditch turntables or cd players you could combine it with a more minimum controller like a vci300 or the ergo for the whole deck and mixer control

I'm just disappointed it seems they dropped the dual control, and it's not very obvious if the 2 deck view for 4 decks is still there. the 2 for 4 is easily one of my favorite things about the sx

You could remap it to Mixvibes Cross, Virtual DJ or Traktor and have Play/Stop/Cue, buttons but I don't believe Serato DJ lets you remap supported controllers.

Well that's an interesting development, especially as it has a Traktor mapping. Wonder if it'll rival the X1MK2?

It will be something like a Denon DH NC 1000 Controller, so you can brows through your serato library, you Cue Points etc. while playing with timecode vinyl or cdj's.

Youll see a picture in this video:

Wow, you don't know how close you were! Although it looks like it's the mixer/effects & pads part that is chopped out. http://serato.com/dj/dvs#md=dvs-release-calendar

Because they would cannabalize CDJ-2000 sales. Pioneer busts their ass at product differentiation ('essential' features at different price points) to make sure sales of one unit don't eat into another.

There's almost no reason to get rid of the drive. It barely costs them to integrate, and it legacy is important.

This could be solved with adjustable feet/a low profile mixer.

Why would they? As crazy as it sounds there are people who still use CDs.

Besides the "bulk" of having a CD drive, the CDJ 2000 has all those features already.

I believe that this is something that many DJ's are craving:

Laptop DJ's have often been made to feel inferior by not having "Pro" gear such as controllers that have reasonably sized platters, a pro quality build and not having kit that has the look and feel of something that looks like it belongs in a DJ booth. If pioneer worked on a controller interface that has the look and feel of CDJ and got rid of all the components that add all the bulk and weight of a CDJ and dedicated it to Traktor/Serato/Mixvibes Cross/etc then pioneer will have a new arena to play in. And whats stopping them from making it compatible with rekordbox and remotebox to? As for it having a screen, if pioneer worked with the software some of the major software companies surely they could make a duplicate of the virtual deck and waveform displayed on the deck itself leaving the laptop/ipad/whatever to sit there and and act as a music server and not some hypnotizing screen that gives you a bad case of serato face

I know that numark and serato did it first with the V7's, but with the future of Digital DJing looking modular (eg: the Behringer CMD Line NI Traktor's Z1, X1 & F1, and all the others that are floating about) I believe it more than makes sense for Pioneer to weigh in and put out a reasonably priced (hopefully) DDJ deck.

I'm ranting, I'll stop now.

Agreed.... again!!

I would actually seriously consider buying a single deck Pio (or NI) midi/HID platter controller.

I might be on my own here but I'm hoping that they bring out a single deck player that can control Traktor & Serato with HID and MIDI via USB and has a built in soundcard. I would also like to see this new device be able to play MP3's, WAV's, AIFF's and other digital music media formats from a USB Stick, Game changer for sure.

I made up a thread about a thing like this in the CDJ and Vinyl community .
Had a lot of response there,so it really feels like the market is waiting for a product like that!

Those are called CDJ2000s

Honestly removing the CD deck from the player would not save much money, It would make the deck smaller I guess but that's about it.
