Never introduced myself on here...

Name's Jon.

Got into DJing in my first year of uni after meeting my next door neighbour in halls who rocked the place with Virtual DJ on a laptop, no controller. One day he turned up with a Hercules steel which I thought was the coolest thing I'd ever seen. Started using a pirated copy of Virtual DJ (I'm not proud) but then saw another mate using Traktor 3 to DJ in a local bar. I picked up a pair of shitty sony TT's on ebay for

It's hard to say really, I don't plan on making it genre specific it's more based around my tastes and ear. The first release was kind of trip hop influenced but more modern and lo-fi. The second one is what I would say as being more ambient loosely based around dubtep.

You've kind of got to hear it

1st post! w0000t!

1. Luki Bassetti
2. Australia (Represent!)
3. House, Tribal, Tech, Breaks. Sometimes Minimal.

I try to mix it up in my sets to include a range of genres and merge them into a really tribal and classic house sort of sound. I draw my musical inspiration from the Euro dance scene and artists the likes of Marco Carola, Sven V

HA! That's funny. I've heard that before as well, just not sure where. Thanks for the welcome.
(Side note about the name, I work at a high school. Kids know I'm into Star Wars, so when I dj'd a dance once, they started calling me DJ Chewbacca. I laughed and just ran with it. )

1. Whats your dj name/real name (optional):
-- not really using a dj name as of now since i've put djing on the backburner for the past year or so... But i went by 'dj iexist' for about 5 years as a undergound hip hop/scratch dj.. A year ago i was part of a duo with another dj friend and we called ourselves 'bologna & cheese.' from here on out, i feel i will just go by my real name, jordan.. Or jord4n.

2. Where you are from (city/country):
-- i am from baton rouge, la - which is where i am currently residing.

3. Style of music you enjoy playing:
-- as i stated in question 1, i got into djing by listening to a lot of isp and anything with scratches in it.. As well as the underground hip hop music circa 2000 - 2007. In order to pay some bills, i transitioned into spinning more top40 rap, 90s rap, mashups and house. Now all i really play is house, electro house and just scratch it up!
:::::::::::::::::
cool stuff man. Loooove house music and electro house. So much fun to spin

haha, yeah I'm quite surprised to have not seen any other DOA members on here yet.

I believe I remember hearing something from Jeryl about you working for Last.FM, that's cool as hell!
