BCD 3000 Mapping (for Traktor Pro) - Using Modes
BCD 3000 Mapping (for Traktor Pro) - Using Modes Posted on: 08.02.2009 by Hortense Kurata hey all!first of all let me introduce myself as i am new here (posting anyway ). my name is haang. i have been mixing for about 6 months, and although a loooooooooooong way from what i hope to be, i end up enjoying every second of it. i am currently using traktor pro with a behringer BCD 3000 midi controller, which is great for DJs starting out. for the last few weeks i have been getting into the concept of controllerism. after gaining inspiration from the community s, tutorials and videos, i decided to incorporate some of these ideas, add a few of my own, and map these controls to work with the BCD 3000 in a logical/intuitive way. due to the extensive remapping of controls, i also created some custom colour coded labels using some paper, double-sided tape, a pen and a couple markers, in order to reflect the changes of the new mapping. many, many thanks to ean and the dj ranking s community for the inspirations and extremely helpful information! oh! and any feedback and suggestions would be much appreciated, as it will be taken into consideration for any future releases. PeAce! | |

Make sure you have not touched any other buttons, knobs, faders and jogwheels after this, and re-select the "Learn" button. - In the interaction section, select "inc." or "dec." - Now the fun part - load up a song to the deck and test the button to see if it works! - Repeat for other decks. - You're done! *If you're mapping it to a knob (a la Traktor S4 Controller), the interaction should be left as is (on direct). Hope this helps. On a side note, please check out my new mix at http://soundcloud.com/haangout when you get the chance! Thanks. |

Also check the "Audio Setup" tab in your Traktor preferences, and the audio device should be selected to something like ASIO or BCD (Can't remember...If you have both try both). And also yes, there should be Outputs for Output Monitor and Master in the "Output Routing" tab. I'd also recommend going to the Behringer site and making sure you have the latest drivers for you BCD. As for Mac users, I've never used a BCD3000 on a Mac so Hope this helps. |

Caitlyn Scarantino 12.11.2010 | Here's what mine looks like, I just control the effects from the X1 and the BCD handles the mixing. Dont pay attention to the second X1, I recently added to control loops on Decks C&D and Effects 3&4 without having to switch to midi mode. |
Joie Cantillon 08.11.2010 | I'm using a BCD 3000 and a Kontrol X1, I love the whole setup, but there are a few things that I'd like to map...first I'd like ot have a way to use the fx control buttons to select specific FX for fx control 1 (like Phaser Flanger Delay T3 and Beatmasher) and then have the knobs be for my filters...I can't figure out for the life of me how to get it done though...could someone let me know how to do it...thanks in advance |
Cindie Elsing 09.11.2010 | thanks for tsi file. really aprecciate it... |

Melida Lacosse 06.02.2010 | Could someone please tell me why my headphone cue no longer works properly? I cannot use either Cue A or Cue B to properly cue anything. The phones volume knob still works, however the mix knob has become useless as well. I noticed that in my Output Routing Preferences page that I only have one set of options for left and right channels, when I am pretty sure that there used to be a third and fourth for the monitor. Can someone help me out here? Many thanks. |
Jamison Deutz 03.01.2010 | same problem here |
Tyrell Badeau 24.12.2009 | Hi all! I'm on Traktor scratch pro 1.2.1 in Mac OSX and I've got some problems with this mapping... For example the scratch wheel still scratch on a song when I want to change the effect... why? |
Ehtel Vontobel 21.11.2009 | This midi map is amazing, great job! |
Tonja Yassa 28.10.2009 | Yeah I forgot to switch the FX buttons on Traktor. Works wonders now. Amazing actually, and you did an excellent work in making midi map. Thanx for help Although I found that jog wheels go a bit fast when you want to find a spot for the song to mix in. Is there a way to slow it down a bit and maybe smooth it a bit? I mean I can use bend buttons to be more precise but I still found I bit easier to use jog wheels. Now I have been using Traktor 3 since beginning of 2008 and it seems a bit better in some aspects than Pro. For example I can't find Native Instruments Recorder. Traktor 3 had 2 types of recording, Native and straight mix recording. You can split the songs and redo your mix and don't take as much space on your hdd unless you decide to write the whole recorded mix. With Pro there is only straight mix recording and it seems to me a bit less controllable. But sound in Pro is quite better. Slow the tempo even by 100% or speed it up and listen carefully and it sounds good,no crackling or sound jumps. I mean t3 is good but you gotta set it up properly although if you go over 50% you can notice(well in my case). So do you know if there is way to fix these two probs I got? |
Hortense Kurata 21.10.2009 | Hi Aleks, The tsi was made using and for traktor pro. The Masher and Delay are both activated using the Engage buttons, which is under the Sync buttons (you can use either). Pressing the FX1 and FX2 buttons activate Fader FX, which is then turned on/off using the Volume Faders. Have you tried this? |
Tonja Yassa 20.10.2009 | Hi Haangout. I have downloaded your midi setup file. All works well exetp FX control on mine. I am currently using BCD 3000 with latest patch update and Traktor pro as well with a patch update, on Vista home 2gb ram and 2.10 Dual core, and 250 gb of hdd space. Now strange thing is that On traktor 3 that I have kill buttons don't work(which I dont mind) but FX works fine, most of them though. On Traktor pro when I press the buttons to enable the FX (On, Fx, Action) they light up but nothing happens sound wise. No distortion, change of frequency, reverb, delay, flanger and others are just not working. Do you know how I can fix this? Can you help me out? |

Tamar Dimura 27.07.2009 | Vista 64bit btw.. from reading around I am now under the impression that I will need a 32bit OS.. is that right? |
Tamar Dimura 27.07.2009 | Hi all.. I'm new here I've just got a BCD3000 delivered this afternoon. Plugged in via usb, installed using the vista driver from the official website and then installed your TSI. Loaded up Traktor pro (1.1.1) and imported your TSI file. I get no control via the BCD3000... have I missed something I am supposed to do? On a separate note.. nice green LEDs above the play button.. on my previous attempt they were red... |
Lacie Harver 20.05.2009 | how man its great, hope you can read some spanish but estuvo genial gracias we need more people like you on the world web, thanks |
Mora Romandia 06.05.2009 | A detailed explanation would be nice |
Shirlee Depiazza 28.04.2009 | HHmmm... note to self, download and try this tsi. I've got a solution for the Scratch problem everyone has. Using any of the various Midi Editor/parsers programs (I'm using BOMES) just add an ON Note to the jogs (you'll need to assign it going clock and counter clock wise) then just add a modifier to switch between scratch and pitch-bend. I'll try and get around to writing a details explanation but for now you should be able to use what I've written to work it out |
Foster Twente 08.04.2009 | Any updated on the new mapping for tracktor pro. ?? |
Foster Twente 08.04.2009 | Hi all, Can anyone tell me can In get hold of any driver/software to open tsi files. many Thanks in advance! Steve |

Another nice feature is that you can use a keypres as a modifier on the MIDI IN (which is to be added in the upcoming update of TP). My layout is pretty straight forward, but uses a variety of controllers. I like flashy lights with the beats and use Bome's to Modify so I can select between all 4 decks. Got a wireless keypad I use for that. I took the ends off the tempo faders cause they get in the way of the jogs. The jogs I use a lot for folder/file browsing and track seeking. Looping button with LED and the two above it increase and decrease loop size. I'm not happy to have to use a modifier on the FX section, and have another DIY project in the works. I use a homemade controller to drop and hit cue points. It's all a confusing mess and uses so many inputs I've never posted the TSI as it wouldn't make sense for most. That's why I made the cheesy map for n00bs and tell them to create their own. |

Joesph Vincze 17.02.2009 | Yes, he wants to have a button only lit when it is pressed. He has not yet told me which button. You can have "shift" or Modifier stay lit easily. You must map two functions to the button you wish to Modify. 1. Set M1 = 0 and have it Set to value 1 2. Set M1 = 1 and have it Set to value 0 3. Lastly, set the Ouput LED for the button to: Controller Range Min = 1 Max = 7 Midi-range Min = 127 Max = 63 Check Invert http://www.instructables.com/id/SRNU1EBFOWZPIC9/ P.S. I'll take any tips and tricks you have and gladly add them to the Instructable, with props to you of course! |
Hortense Kurata 17.02.2009 | hey guys nice to meet you and thank you for your posts, i really appreciate your inputs on this.

Joesph Vincze 17.02.2009 | hmmmmm You have the BCD3000 software set to STANDARD MODE? Upload your TSi and I can take a look for you. |
Nickole Krautbauer 17.02.2009 | I have done that process you explained on instructables.com however when i press the button and let go the light stays on |
Joesph Vincze 17.02.2009 | Here is a blank BCD3000 template for you to use to express your mappings to others, avoiding a messy text file. |
Joesph Vincze 17.02.2009 |
It seems to come on for a number of button compressions then go off.
-To have a LED light only when held set: (like for a modifier button) Map the button to the control you want to light up only when held. 1.Highlight the Control and click Duplicate 2.Change the Interaction Mode to Output 3.Change the assigned MIDI key in the pull-down menu next to Learn. The numbers start with CC. Use the manual and my cheat-sheet to find the corresponding number 4. then set the following: Controller Range Min = 1 Max = 7 Midi-range Min = 127 Max = 63 Check Invert -To have a Led light blink with the beat: 1.Click "Add" 2.Select "Output" 3.Click on Beat Phase Monitor 4.Assign the deck 5.Select the corresponding CC -As for the scratch issue, in my opinion, it must be how TP works, cause I've tried about every combination I can believe of. When the 'SCRATCH' button is pressed the deck stops, then resumes after scratching. Anyways, the "JOG" wheel on the BCD3000 is just an endless potentiometer, not the best for scratching. |
